That could work if the perk worked with maelstorm but it doesn’t half the time. Heck it doesnt seem to proc at all in most pvp scenarios from my experience. Go to WW or whatever town is big on your server and duel someone they’ll not get rooted for most of your pulls.

I agree on maelstrom, it does more damage and by descriptor is better than reap imo. The animation is way smaller than the actual range of it or there’s desync associated with it. I haven’t tried it since bloodlust desync fix.
and furthermore, i play on your server, on the same faction as you.
with that said, you’ve never won a war without me there, and you’ve lost every war im not there.
so it could be said, rather easy, that i am one of your few competitive players.
i swapped from a gaxe to a rapier and its literally night and day my effectiveness in small scale pvp, i cannot die by playing mediocre at best and i can support with 360 aoe cc every 10s aswell as 3 iframes negating damage (riposte + 2 evades) aswell as the fastest movement in the game for running away
i used to be pure str melee but now i play 60/40 dex/str with sword and rapier with spear swap if i need more cc and its HARD outclasses gaxe before feb nerfs let alone after this feb patch
its toxic and i love it so i hope more melees realize this and just reroll off gaxe and just abuse blatantly stronger weapon combos to continue to enjoy the game instead of quitting

They said its bugs, bots, and balance month not just bug month. This isn’t the end of the list though. There will be more throughout the test cycle.

I get where you are coming from being a long time holdout of GA/LS however I can’t be bothered to regear and I don’t want to play rapier…
AGS you are completely detached from what the player base is asking you. As someone above said, you are probably pushing these changes by getting feedback from servers with the meta of 2 months ago.
How much more do you want to nerf the GA?
Light attacks rooting you into place as the enemy walks away from you. Subpar damage. Insatiable perk working 1/10 times, completely useless. Medium dex users iframing all skills and attacks and you proceed to nerf it even more, by nerfing the well? Probably the only last remaining reason to use the great axe?
There are multiple ways already to get out of the well but you’re deciding to nerf it even more, based on WHOSE feedback?
Who is giving you the feedback that it should be nerfed even more? Meanwhile, screams are rooting for 2seconds, IG reigning free with their absurd roots and CC and mages winning tournaments in every server for how easy they have it.
After 1400hrs into this game, i find myself at a loss. I don’t understand what game you’re playing.

GA/GH will always be top meta I swear people cry for 0 reason. This is def a balancing patch if anyone actually really knew the game that was crying they would know G-well with the G-well perk is very strong and with the amount of wars stacking G-well and ice bombs its a lot of dps.
can someone explain to me what game these devs are playing?
because its NOT new world, and if it is, they are doing balancing changes based on in house dev dueling tournaments.
you can tell these people do not play on “competitive servers” they are not engaged in any wars outside of in house ones, and they sure as heck are playing on a server with a meta from 3 months ago.
i cant get over the absolute desync from their players population
people asking for VG / IG nerfs —> screw it, lets buff or leave them alone
people asking to put GA back in the playing field —> lets nerf it harder, out initial knee jerk nerf when we had 100 levels 60’s across all the servers wasnt enough, we WILL crush this weapon into oblivion.

They started these changes 2 months ago. In another couple of months they will get around to fixing the problems that are causing players to leave today.
