[Discussion] What are your "Top 3" issues right now in New World?

Thanks for posting! These are really good points!

We agree on the CDs.

For #2 I’ve wondered if they made some sort of “Re-Forge” system where you could take gear you crafted and re-craft from that item. Or even take a PVE drop and re-craft the item. They could do this so it lessens the RNG. Like maybe you got a great armor piece with 2 good perks but the wrong stat… Allowing you to reroll the stat would be sweet. Let’s you get a piece that might be close to what you want, and you can fine tune it more.

#3 Ive noticed this too. I always thought it was odd at how quick stamina starts to regenerate after using it. Most games have a small buffer of say 1 second after using stamina before it regens.

  1. Orbs
  2. Balance
  3. Lack of PvP Ranked Arena

Care to elaborate more?

What about Orbs?

What balance? is the PTR patch not addressing enough? (VG/Rapier nerfs)

Lack of PVP Arena - they have said they will be likely doing a 3v3 arena here shortly. I wouldnt be surprised if it came next month or April… I question if arena is even the best way to go frankly… Id personally probably rather have just normal BGs…

my main problem is that they sold me a game that had pve and pvp and it turns out that it doesn’t have pvp. Why should I keep playing?

let’s put my example:

I’ve been in the game for 4 months, currently I have more than 300k accumulated

  • the skills: at the maximum level, with which I can manufacture, (although I don’t need to manufacture, I can buy everything I need)
  • the dungeons?: currently I do an average of 3 or 4 genesis, and 3 or 4 lazarus a day, or combinations of them, 8 or 9 a day. at this point they are tremendously boring for me and I only do them routinely.

*Wars: currently the effects of having the territory or not, given my economic level are non-existent, I don’t notice the difference, it doesn’t affect me in anything important, and the idea of investing time in a war that has no benefits, that has limited mechanics and impractical, for an irrelevant activity in my game… makes wars of no interest to me

the bgs? identical to wars, without any important benefit, the 2 routines are made which you win the prize win or lose the combat, designed only to benefit certain roles, but a tank, in a game with serious bug problems where each every time I change weapons the shield bugs me, in a bg where in the end killing and killing without meaning prevail more than building since there is no time, nor defending, since the structures are irrelevant with doors that do not last at all and a bad attempt to pose a “fort assault” when in reality it is a run and kill everything you catch, makes them nothing more than a necessary evil.

At this point I do not consider that the game has pvp, there is nothing that encourages me to play in pvp, there is no fear or emotion, there are no rewards or reasons that invite me to run that path, leaving me locked in a game with limited pve which consists of doing and repeating… in mechanics so simple, that it takes very little to get to the point of repeating and repeating…

  1. All of the interesting PvP stuff is essentially locked behind months of play time.
  2. The questing is still not there yet; this is very apparent in brightwood, weaver’s fen, and cutlass keys (probably a lot more places). A lot of the area quests essentially boil down to walking back and forth (fairly long distances) 3 times (like when you’re constantly going back to that angry earth cave).
  3. Still needs a fair amount of QoL, polish, and content (not just endgame) that should come with time.

1.) Re-introduce skill-based combat like we had in Alpha.

2.)Cut down on bloat. There’s so much actual garbage to sift through it becomes a chore in and of itself. Less gear, less crappy gear options. Make rare loot feel special rather than a slightly different flavor of the norm.

3a.) Make end game crafting accessible to everyone. None of this stupid micromanaging trophies nonsense. A crafting set that players can EARN and let them go about the RNG mobile app slot machines from there.

3b.) No more “bad” gear. Bad gear exists because you dumbed down the stat system and thus killed build creativity. Focus used to be an interesting stat that anyone could benefit from, now it’s just the boring healer stat. Very few hybrid builds exist because you’ve made them irrelevant. There’s this perpetual behavior of dumbing down ways for players to express themselves through their character followed by overcomplicating progression with ignorantly designed systems. I don’t get it, and clearly most of the people who tried the game didn’t care for it either.

Me either terrim. Not ONE. I have bought all the ones I have from the market outside of one armoring tool that a company mate got from TP lol.

Im right there with you on crafting. They CLEARLY have not done the grind themselves to even GET 200 of ANY crafting. Its so unrealistic. 6.3 million exp, tens of thousands (top tier) and hundreds of thousands of basics, yet you still cant make a 600 item till you get absurdly lucky on getting the clothes, and even MORE lucky to get the trophies (grind 200 again for that skill so you can even make them).
Im over 1000 hours myself. Im kinda sick of it.

1- Server population vs world size. We need 1000+ players on a world, so that everything is very active, but the current world size is too small.

2- Unmoderated worlds, AG has created toxic, cyberbullying, trolling environments without having moderators on each world.

3- War system/town ownership. Companies can easily destroy a world. My company has grown super quick, 100 members in 3 weeks. Why? Cuz we focus on fun, friendliness, helpfulness, activity. All 3 worlds I’ve been into, the public chats are toxic cesspools. And the war system, being so linear without much room for strategy once you have the “recipe”. Then they control a town by making a mess, not upkeeping, increase taxes (not just house tax), not defending invasions, etc…

Those are, IMHO, the 3 aspects that are making players leave NW in mass.

I add one more reason besides the null pvp and the feeling of scam you feel when they promise you a game of one type and they give you a game of another and on top of it full of failures, I add:

most of the players feel that the NW team ignores them. There are no great communications on their part, the communication is null, and there are many examples that NW is not in their priorities, the attempt went wrong… and now their efforts and money are being redirected in other directions.

clear example, I pay 40 euros for a game like NW and they give me a game with half of what was promised and full of bugs, where my language is not considered important (Spanish) that has no section in the forums, and yet the Portuguese language that has 1 player for every 5 or 10 Spanish speakers … if it has.

Now, they take out the lost ark, and if it has a section in Spanish.

I mean, a free game, does it give better service to one of the largest communities of players than one for which we have had to pay?.. anyway. I’ve been one of the biggest supporters of new world to date but there isn’t a single week that I don’t find 2 or 3 new things that make me feel insulted that I paid for this game (and I’m a gamer very used to paying for games and fees…) but not to pay and not receive…

no world sizes are too large for the amount of resources you are pvp clearley

Go troll somewhere else.

1- boring combat, need a fourth ability per weapon and an increase to weapon talent points in order to spec in a fourth ability OR bring back the third weapon slot.

2- open world environment and mobs quickly get super repetitive and boring due to lack of variety

3- not enough dungeons and the orb system not allowing daily free entry

Nice, quote a bunch of games with God awful PvP.

Mate, you are not building your case for arenas, you are highlighting why they don’t have a place in NW. Who cares about PvP rank when you could put the effort into capturing a town? Or other PvP resource fights the Devs could work on instead of useless arenas.

Hard no on all. Extra abilities don’t require more skill, just more tedious to cycle through.

Am… WoW have a good arena. In NW u could take some titles and visual effects (la2 hero), skins and etc.

General lag. The building that is NW crumbles when it’s first floor is made of cardboard. I basically live on top of the servers (15 ping), and I have a more than adequate PC and internet. No problems in any other online game. NW PVP is nearly unplayable at times with just 10 people fighting (5v5s), forget fighting in wars when there’s 30 people from each side on a point. It’s a literal slideshow. It’s nearly as bad in PVE with rubberbanding, getting knocked by final Gen boss when my charge resets me to the starting point, getting hit when I shouldn’t due to desync, etc.

Low pop servers. I’m not trying to dogpile on the dead game posts, but it’s no surprise that a game designed around community, companies, zerging, playing with friends, and parties suffers big time when the playerbase declines. Chest runs, clearing 60s portals, boss farming, pushing territories, OPR, invasions, even finding people with different roles for dungeons/arenas sucks when there’s only a few hundred on the server in total. Which leads to…

Toxicity. Especially in regards to how much control territory owners can have over your game. Toxicity has no penalty, collusion has no penalty. Territory owners control your tax rate (how most people make money), crafting fees, territory buffs (where you can be locked out of a buff to make gs 595-600). They can even choose to collude and have no smelters on a server for example, meaning no asmo can be crafted. It’s way too easy for the top 1-3 companies take over a map by being slightly better than 2nd-4th place. There is no war fatigue - a company can have infinite shell companies with different siege times and one roster to fight in them all back to back. There was even a post on the forum here with screenshots of one company with shells in different factions so they can dec on themselves in a fake war. Give people absolute economic power, and they’ll absolutely abuse it.

Completely agree … i love the solo/grinding part but … Completely agree

It’s probably not on my personal top 20 issues list but I’ve always what they were smoking when they set it up this way.

None of this stupid micromanaging trophies nonsense.

I never understood why you’d need a angry earth trophy in 3 different houses in 3 different territories to get a “temporary” angry earth damage boost anywhere on the map. Or why you’re permanently limited to only 5 boosts at a time. Or how you can use an armoring trophy to craft, then trade it to your friend so they can craft, then trade it back to you so you can craft. Or how you can just decide to sell them on a whim and someone else can have the boosts. None of any of that makes sense.

They should be tradable but consumed & bound to your character to receive a permanent boost. Nothing temporary and nothing dependent on housing. You went thru the work to get it so it should benefit you.

Lots of passing the buck, there is a well documented bug where no one gets a t3(purple) fishing aptitude crate at all. Some of us are owed over 50 crates.

For General Lag, I dont know if there is a good solution. From my POV, you have a very graphically intense game, with action combat, which adds even more. I cannot fathom the amount of packets that are received/sent. Must be massive strain on any server. Games with Tab target have a much easier time with this as they dont need to have physical projectiles etc in the game.

The problem I see, is how much things are focused around large scale PVP. Wars are massive, and its obvious the servers (and most peoples GPUs) cannot handle this. OPR is also pretty bad… 20 or 30 people all in a local area, it gets pretty bad.

Low Pop is a double edged sword. Being even on a Med Pop server myself, farming mats is near impossible. Forget about Ori Ore, its always contested. Lodestone? Nope, half the time I go to any halfway decent spot, there is a guy farming there. Etc. I do agree that overall the experience is poor. I do think having a cross-server OPR would greatly help this… If possible.
