Disk Corrupt error on every new patch

Hi,

Every new patch download to this game fails to download (Steam) with a Disk Corrupt error message, I have found other posts to this error but none of the fixes seem to help. I have installed the game on a different SSD and the error comes back on the next patch. The only way I can update the games is to uninstall and re install every time, fortunately I have good internet so 40GB downloads are only irritating at this point.

  • I have plenty of disk space
  • I have tried a another drive and still get the same error
  • This only happens with New World downloads
  • I am not downloading the patch as soon as it comes out, this one was a few days later
  • I cleared the Steam cache

can anyone help :disappointed:

Sorry to hear what is happening to you.

Can you explain me a little bit better the error. Every time you download a new patch, Steam is giving you that error? do you have an ss of the error or the specific message of the error?

Thank you for replying. I did not take a ss this time because I uninstalled and reinstalled the game. The error happens after downloading a new patch, the patch then installs and fails the Steam download page just gives the error “Disk Corrupt” in red text. As I said though this only happens with New World patches and no other games on Steam and it it not the disk because I installed the game on another disk as I thought my drive was failing. The error then happened on the second disk when the next New World patch was released. If there is another patch and it fails I will take a screenshot.

Yes, the game is working again after I re-downloaded it
