Hi,
It might also have to do with the directory you have installed the game. Make sure to try closing steam and starting it with left click and choosing to “run as administrator”.

I TRIED THIS AND WORKS! what on earth is going on
Manage to make it working by make a backup of the said acf file on the error message, emptying the original, running New World >> Error Message >> Remove the empty acf, rename back the backup file to original file >> running New World again, it is updating.
And New World is launching, not too sure on what happened on that acf file while it entries seems ok:
Previous acf entry:

It is working again now.
Installing to my other drive seems to have worked which is annoying but it works. All other games still download like normal only new world had the issue lol. If I wasn’t so hooked on this game i would have just said screw it XD.
bloody hell lol, i installed it fine on the C drive for some reason people are having issue that have it installed on other drives… so weird
same glad its working for you aswell!
Same problem and the game has completely dissapeared from my Steam Library. First time I have seen something like this
Same issue, I just reinstalled.
deleting that acf file for me allowed it to start updating
KK, that maybe the main action needs to be made xD
I tried the solution Aijalon posted but it did not work for me. However, there was a file called ‘appmanifest_1063730.acf.tmp’ which I deleted and it started working.
Good to know, so it must be something to do that particular 1063730.acf file, which after is being deleted, update should start working again as Typicalsarena mentioned as well earlier on.
i will post this as a solution for everyone at the top of the thread
My friend reinstalled steam before this was known. I appreciate you.
Yup! I got the Steam\steamapps\appmanifest_1063730.acf error message.
Tried all the tips previously suggested, and now I can’t even reinstall the game.
Deleting both of those files worked for me too. Thank you!
I finally got it working again.
I first ran through all the tips posted online, and none of them worked.
My last resort was to uninstall the game and reinstall it. This didn’t work either, and produced the same disk write error.
Finally, I uninstalled Steam, reinstalled Steam, and this didn’t solve the issue either.
I ended up repeating this last process 3 times, and it finally took, and I was able to get the game to reinstall, launch, and play it.
WTF! This is why I’ve never used Steam until I was forced to do so with New World. 3rd party managers are the dumbest shit ever, and I can’t wait to uninstall this once I feel I got my $40 worth.
so what exactly do i have to do
