My personal guess is that they probably read through, say, ~20% of them, which should be enough to give them an idea of what the community as a whole is discussing the most. They most probably read through the most active topics too.
That said, some potential good ideas given in individual topics that don’t get traction are inevitably left behind while troll posts end up gathering a lot of wasted attention and engagement. It’s just how forums work.
Personally, I try to give ideas and add to discussions in existing, active topics, despite creating new ones here and there. I also use the search function for ideas/suggestions to check if somebody else already created a topic for it, in which case I like and reply if not archived already.
PS: I don’t think it’s really fair to blame them for not reading everything. There’s just so much activity in the forums in the form of new topics and replies I don’t think it’s possible for them to read 100% of it. They need to drink, eat, piss, shit and sleep. New topics and replies keep popping up every second while they do that. They just can’t.
Polls have been suggested and a developer said they do it through in game tools.
I believe they should post polls much more often, and in the forums, to allow people to better voice their opinions on diverse suggestions and discussions without requiring extensive typing and without having so many topics and replies just go unnoticed.
Not everybody is willing to type and proof read text as much as we are in order to make their opinion known.
No I definitely get that, if i saw these forums i wouldnt want to read them either but there are main issues that come up constantly on repeat like life staff being to op in pvp, ranged weapons being dogshit, ughh storage issues or better search function in auction house, like how can i not look up items by dexterity or what not. They see all that im sure but then decide to release a new weapon instead of fixing the ones that are out already…among with other stupid updates. Im sure eveyones excited to new weapons but maybe fix the existing problems instead of adding more problems cuz im sure this weapon will be broken asf lol

I feel you man. I totally agree with you. The void gauntlet in particular was probably 99% ready before the game was released, however.
Now if they start releasing more weapons (which is not among the things NW needs the most IMO) then my opinion will be that AGS doesn’t have its priorities straight.
Well, Ive seen soooo many threads which are just pure bullshit imo. “LINK TP? IM OUT CYA”, “PVP LUCK? I QUIT”, all that shit. And Im happy they dont listen to this feedback.
On the other hand I see them opening up a PTR for testing, fixing stuff as soon as they can (yes a lot is still broken i know) and I posted ONE single thread EVER where I reported a bug. I got an answer in 5 minutes in which the CM thanked me and told me that it was directed to the team.
Hmm, are you new on the forums or something? Because the TOP complaints havent been the same since day 1. They change depending on the patch (what got bricked). Last ~2 weeks it went from AH not working to duping/exploiting/botting to weapons/armor being broken (hatchet, great axe, resilient → PvP in general). Those have been the top issues. And those get tackled asap. Eventhough ofc the issues itself are fucking annoying and destroying the fun. But to say they dont do shit and dont listen to anything is far from the truth.
Thats what im kinda getting at, im not going to pretend like i know a single thing about coding or what they do, and i hate to add stupid threads that dont provide significant input but its kinda this last update that pissed me off because all the weapons need a major balance and with all the broken stuff out there and i saw a new weapon lmao
It definitely is but Thats like something that should have been out with the release of the game tho, lots of other games have that in example rust and the rust staging brach
It’s a good thing devs aren’t blindly listening to everything on here. The game would turn to complete trash based off a vast majority of suggestions I see here.
As long as reasonable players are going there to waste their time for QA.
But the most likely outcome is masses login to find the next meta or OP thing to use in live instead.
They should already have a closed test server for basic bughunting before anything goes live anyway.
