AGS will find something when they make the map bigger than what it is now. maybe mount maybe a taxi of some sort where it will take you to the place you want to go and can just get out manually when its traveling but for now, i do not see the need of mount. The game can be managed by proper azoth management. the map is still small to need mounts
Mounts would be great.
I don’t understand the people which don’t want them to become real.
But they should only be usable when not pvp flagged and only in open-world (not in wars ect).
yea no. useless conversation because you do not have constructive feedback as to why.
Sure, I’ll break the game and fast travel to places I haven’t been. Good thinking!
the map is too small to have mounts. even the developers said they will add mounts when they see that it is needed. hence, mounts are not needed at the moment.
There is a nuanced difference between having nowhere to go and not having a reason to go anywhere.
Adding mounts at this stage would be to add something for the sake of adding it - riding a horse just to ride a horse. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that, but it won’t substantively add anything to the experience.
If the game expands and grows, both in terms of its scope and its geography, mounts would be a welcome addition - an addition that would, at some future point, be meaningful - a horse (or any animal capable of bearing a rider) needs to be more than a means of traveling more quickly between point A and point B.
There are a number of areas where the current environment needs refinement before mounts should appear on the to-do list.
Map is small enough for you to spend 5-10 minutes travelling to a new settlement by foot.
lmao, too small? The map is around 21 square miles which is comparable to other open world games like Breath of the Wild or Skyrim which gasp have mounts.
yes the map is too small for now. even the developers said mounts are not needed for now and will add them when they are.
How often do you actually need to run across the entire width of the map? I would venture to say 0% of the time. There’s plenty of ways to get closer to where you want to go and then go from there, ideally knocking out other objectives on the way.
I am constantly running across the entire map albeit doing (very bland and uninspired) quests as I go.
To all of you who say the world is to small for mounts:
People are teleporting themselves so damn often arround (me included), that the world feels small because of THAT.
You barely see people traveling arround by foot…
They should implement mounts, increase azoth-teleport-costs and you would actually see people traveling between the villages by mount. This would help the atmosphere a lot imo. And all the portal users (including me) would see more of the world.
Honestly I can’t go more than about 1 minute without seeing another player. Maybe I just got lucky on my server but the world feels very much alive as-is. That actually is an interesting point, though… It would contribute to the ‘active world’ more.
I meant literally going from Cutlass Keys to Mourningdale, or similar. I just don’t buy that happening.
If they did and only made them slightly faster it would not be too bad, Warhammer Online had them and it was only slightly faster and did not cause an issue.
Being a crafter who runs low on Azoth all the time I’ve run between zones quite often. 0% my ass, lol.
Mounts are coming, just not yet. Does no one search the forums at all?
Scot Lane: I think right now our world isn’t of the size that warrants mounts. When we do get there with the live game, that’s gonna happen at some point, we’ll add mounts when we feel players will benefit from them and we can do them in a really cool way that works for us.
That sounds like a strategy problem, no? Although I do think the Azoth cap is needlessly low. Nobody wants to have to farm corruption breaches just to refill.
Exactly!
And don’t you think, running for 1 minute untill u see an other player, is to much if there are 2000 player on such a “small” world?
Yes, I’ve literally quoted that but there are still weird people who are arguing against them ever coming, lol. It’s like they’ll be forced to use them or something and they don’t want their fellow players to derive enjoyment from seeing something they want added.
I like mounts but am ok with not having them, Id rather see some sort of PVE only run speed modifyer for those doing quests. Obviously tough to implement or maybe the idea is whack.
