Firestaff is one of the weakest weapons when it comes to wars and does not get slotted in high level wars. If anything, Firestaff needs a utility buff such as a knockdown. The main problem Firestaff has suffered from since the beginning of the game is it is good at killing weak or lower skilled players due to it being a crit damage weapon which does insanely big numbers to players without resilient. To this day you still see players complaining about Flamethrower and other abilities that are rather easily survived with a bit of abs and dodging. This is at the same time while we have builds that can completely obliterate players like light hatchets, bows, light bruisers. A common suggestion you see here is “give flamethrower a cooldown”. This would be one of the worst changes I can think of and is only pushed by bad actors trying to destroy the ability. Flamethrower is cancelled by any stagger, stun, or knockdown, mages must already go into melee range to use it, giving it a cooldown will make it as useless as wind chill.
