Do PvP players get more than just an XP buff?

im afraid you will have to read it a few more times. you didnt get it yet.

dont be discouraged tho. you will eventually get it. i believe in you!

You sure do seem to think you’re entitled to this bonus you say someone else is not entitled to.

@FlyNavy I have never flagged for open world for the harvesting bonus. I prefer to get my PVP though OPR, doesn’t mean I don’t understand what the devs are trying to accomplish with it.

Personally I rather PVP on my own terms and time.

No, I do not read irrelevant explanations twice!
In fact, after reading other comments you have made in this thread makes me think you are in some kind of mental state??? like frustrated or something…

anyways, keep preaching… maybe some day you’ll find someone that understand your “explanations”

cheers

I’ve read through countless loud PvE people exactly like you here.

It’s tiring kinda like explaining to a toddler thats having a tantrum because they want even footing with another thats got much higher risks ergo why the boost is even there.

I started PvP lvl 20-30 guess what I did to get luck bonuses prior to this PvP flag one? I used luck sets like most, and when I feel particularly boring I still do the same and unflag aand use a luck set, it’s a simple concept to understand and actually accept.

The extra lootluck and harvesting luck, was the sole reason me and a bunch of my friend quit this game. We did it the day the patch went live. We have not touched the game since. I’m just in here for time to time to see if they ever will recognise this huge error.

Oh no, whatever shall the game do without you?

@stoner

What huge error? I am mainly PVE, I do a lot of gathering as well. I choose not to flag and get my PVP in OPR. Yet i have no problem with them putting an incentive in to encourage some open world pvp.

It’s a bonus, i choose not to take advantage of it, but it’s always an option should i change my mind.

A wild adult appears.

How? You can either flag or not, if you run across a gank squad well that’s that, but it’s kind of on you for not having situational awareness. But you can not flag too and you can forgo the bonus. You want the bonus, with no risk? Well your SOL, but if you wanna flag up and potentially fight for resources, then this is your game.
It’s a good system, you don’t get alot more for it, it’s a relatively small bonus compared to dying and resetting.
I’ve ran into plenty of organized groups while flagged, when I’m solo and I have no illusion that I should be able to hold my own vs 2-5 flagged opposing teams. Hit respawn and unflag and continue or go somewhere else.

@fatpayster

“Hit respawn and unflag and continue or go somewhere else.”

That was pretty much how i conducted myself when i flagged for the bonus in WoW.

I flagged for the bonus, and only attacked when attacked. Honestly it was pretty cheezy 9 out of 10 enemies you encountered were doing the same thing.

More often then not you would find yourself just keeping an enemy in the corner of your eye while you shared the same space and went about your bussiness.

Usually when you did see combat it was getting jumped at an inopportune moment by a solo player or getting outright ganked by a group.

Honestly it was cheezy, and i chose not to go down that route in NW.

If you want to take advantage of the extra luck without PvP then just play on a dead server or at unsocial hours (provided your work schedule allows that) and reap the rewards.

As for why this was done? Because open world PvP in MMORPGs works like an MLM scam. Only those on the very top (whether it’s due to skill, time, or money) get to win consistently.

Most PvP players are average or even mediocre and get absolutely clapped by the big dogs which makes them feel bad so they go and hunt down those even less skilled than them or whoever they vastly outnumber and outgear. Essentially, people have to be recruited and kept around to get preyed on for the benefit of those above them.

This game initially didn’t give these people any easy targets to gank because no one was pressured into PvP via incentives. So they complained and complained despite knowing that the game changed direction from its initial PvP focus because that drove the majority away.

The company initially resisted these demands but then once it became obvious that New World is a sinking ship and a commercial failure the people in charge began to fling excrement at the wall to see if it any of it sticks and retains players. One of these ideas was to bribe people into flagging so they can become ganking fodder for the dissatisfied mass of mediocre PvP players.

I don’t think this idea is working any better than their other ones, judging by engagement metrics. Maybe further increases to these incentives will be next.

Oh mate

We’v been getting loads.

5% kill exp
10% quest exp
30% luck

Great armor set min 535 with end game corruption resist, FANTASTIC weapons.

and we also get a great deal of gold since most pvpers end up in a company controling a bit oh land. mm what else.

oh oh we also tend to get to do more content since we can amass in a zerg and just roll over areas for chest runs, boss kills, an hard to do missions

Join us  Jooooin us

Yea, it’s a choice.
I could spam chat or ask company for support but if I want to run flagged solo resource gathering that’s on me.(Or you)
It’s not that big of a change and I don’t see why it’s an issue that people get more for risking more.
This is coming from someone that runs unflagged 99% of the time.
I don’t want to deal with the headache of respawning. Do I envy the players that are flagged for having the bonus? Not at all because I know what the risk is and I feel it’s appropriate.

And the game has been improved enormously because of it too. So many flagged players. Every single day I see them. Compared to almost never before. And it makes farming rares more paletable.

AGS got quite a lot of things wrong since launch but this was not one of those things. I even see PVE players flagging up (and we tend to leave each other alone, because most of them will just want to farm and I respect that to be honest; some fight, some don’t and that’s way more interesting than boolean “all fighting” or “no fighting”). Made more friends because of this change than I’ve made enemies (i.e. no enemies at all, it’s just a game).

in general in open world I leave people alone unless attacked first

So how exactly does this promote PvP? Other than giving easy kill fodder to more aggressive players? People not interested in open world PvP are still not interested in it. They flag up for the rewards and ignore or hide from fights. Only time I see people enjoy being flagged up is when they move around in a big group and simply zerg down opposition with no chance of losing.

Risk vs Reward is fine but the risk should be equal to the reward.

Apparently i dont see any big risk to be flagged and the reward i think its very generous.
it encourages people to flag thats why they did it.

Lately i am running one day pvp on my loot runs and the other pvp off just to figure out if i will notice any better drops.

Regarding the pvp games. Stop addresing it like that in most online games there is competition among the players even if they are not battle each other.
And all mmorpgs brings the players to specific enviroment challenges.

If the game had only pve it will be very boring and if it was only pvp it will be very boring as well.
the direction to have balance with both of them, its a good one.
pvp and pve servers are no good idea for me.
