Do something about these Muskets

good argumentation, congrats

reviewed ur topics.
melee/dex player ofc u think ig is fine

I think that you need to work on reading comprehension. I said nothing about IG. You did though lol.

Im strictly talking about mortal empowerment.

ye. cuz @Relentless_Turnip asked for what weapon i believe needs it.
should work on ur reading comprehension aswell

What
I maintain that the perk 100% doesn’t need to exist as well

That’s cool. It’s also not what I was responding to :joy:

definetly needs to exist.

specially cuz this exists

there is so god damn much fortification in this game.

yes ik u can apply rends.

But not as Mage

Unless u go melee and use ur Ice Shower, which as said in other topics, is a ridicoulus bad skill ( 1 sec root, u can dodge, u can dash/leap inside and get out easily )

I’m pretty sure that it’s already possible to hit the empowerment cap or close to it without mortal empowerment.

Also rend exists.

ye. With a Spear or a Musket.

ignore the sapphire, was testing smth for corrupted dungeon

You can hit the empowerment cap easily with sns, hatchet, firestaff, void gauntlet, GA, WH, and bow as well.

definetly not
5% from not being damaged
5% from being above 50% mana
15% from being below 50% max health
nice empowerments…

Those 3 passives + Empowering meteor shower on weapon is 54% and extremely easily achievable.

Next?

ah ye. the best skill of all skills :joy:

i mean abusing the bugged let it burn perk combination, to achieve empowerment… ye i forgot, new world community thing

u get hit alot in opr tho
u are often below 50% mana
and rarely are u running around with less then 50% max health either… lol ( specially cuz Musket’s exist, wouldnt recommend that )

It is very much a usable ability now.

Not as much as a melee.

False

Then use keenly empowered. Looky there.

maybe in ur server not.

its either muskets, bows, or hatchet/spear that run/fire into backline all the time.

but you didnt mention how muskets are unkillable. There have been plenty of OPRs where I have decided to go musket hunting because I was tired of getting shot. Once I [finally] reach the musket player (who typically only has 5-50 con), with a successful sneak up where they don’t actually see me (which requires running ALLLL the way around them) - I have 1 stun lock to do damage before they rapier away and then get a free 10% haste buff from musket. Pair this with zephyr cakes for an extra 10% haste at all times plus reposte if I do end up getting close. I don’t disagree that the terrain is responsible for the feeling like you cant run away from muskets, but then you also have a significant defensive advantage as well when people approach you. This isn’t entirely the rapier’s fault, it has a lot to do with the free 10% haste. In the regular game without haste you can press W and literally not get hit by most melee weapons. Add 10% haste to that and it is even more difficult to catch. As a result, you get to stack mortal empowerment which gives you free damage boosts that I can’t remove because of your defensive advantage.

My point is that there is more to it than just the terrain. I played musket in like 15 OPRs (before I got bored and switched back) and ended each one with 5-10 kills and 0-1 deaths - I have never played musket (have bad gear), am bad at shooters and aiming, and do not know a solid musket strategy and I straight up was able to come out with 10+ kills 0 deaths from a number of those matches. That alone should be evidence that something is wrong - ESPECIALLY because I was running 50 Con and should have been dead the second somebody touched me with a weapon.

EDIT:

because at this point everyone knows you’re unkillable and nobody wants to waste their time chasing a 20% haste guy across the map for 5 minutes just so he can land a cheeky reposte or 100-0 you from 50 meters away.

I don’t disagree with you in most of what you said. I do think that the defensive abilities musket players have are insane but so are the bow/rapier players.
Defensively, musket players are insane they can outplay 2-3 dps easy, trap them, sticky bomb them, even kill them with the rend of a riposte and two fast shots.

But they do die, good assassins can outplay musket/rapier, good muskets can counter bad muskets, good bow or bb dps can kill muskets.

My issue with the musket is that you can kill other players easy with a musket and that has mostly to do with the terrain. You said it yourself you did not die 0-1 deaths is common on muskets and you killed a lot according to you.
I for myself have a lot of hours in game time with a musket in OPRs and in my worst game i get like 20-25 kills with 2-3 deaths. I don’t consider myself a GOOD musket player, my company does not even take me to wars as a musket player lol.

But the thing is that the OPR map is constructed that way that musket can snipe you from so far and you can’t even see them some times. If it was’nt about the meta on attunment you would not even see the bullet traveling.
I have seen musket players getting over 50 kills in random OPRs because they snipe healers, other muskets and bow players. And you are right you cannot go kill them front to front unless you outplay them because by the time you reach them you are most likely half HP. Because of the terrain.

Don’t get me wrong a lot of what you said is actually true but those arguments don’t make the musket OP, it is the terrain in OPR that makes it OP.
Take an example on WARs, musket players rarely make the difference. In my server they take mostly 2 musket players in their roaster and they don’t have that much dmg or kills.

Musket’s even bugging lol

just saw this video

he often aims, next to the person, like where the player was half a second ago and shots there, yet it still connects

2-3 muskets can ruin an OPR for everyone but themselves and there’s virtually nothing anyone else can do about it. High dmg, rapid fire, no dmg falloff over range + mobility. They can’t be touched and literally play from half a map away from the actual fight.
