sword spear and rapier are designed to have quick attacks that hit fast and less recovery on attacks. Grit exists so that slow powerful attacks have some chance of hitting.
these are reactive weapons, as you can note from sword and shield, and rapier having tons of defensive skills. Spear has fast CC and long distance heavy attack, and extra stamina. Notice also that spear and rapier make use of bleeds so they can still do dps while being less aggressive.
hammer, GA, Hatchets defensive skills tend to literally involve hit trading, fighting multiple opponents, etc. These are proactive weapons. Without grit/cc immunity, they would never be able to do their thing.
to be fair as a heavy the only reason i CAN reliably manage stam now is because of my dex/tank build using rapier/swordnshield as a idea of absolute defense(its just a concept). and the dashes of rapier are the only reason i can keep my stam good in close quarters, i agree with you however good stam management might be something i dont possess yet. but in my experience i dodge 2 attacks, and if i see a heavy at that point while blocking with that 30 stam i got left, il have 2 choice, let my guard break , or use my jaw instead of my shield. (that said i have 0 stam issues since i started using rapier/sword). its in a way broken if it didnt deal shitty dmg.
(Edit: tbf i was discribing a situation where 2+ people are on u, in a 1v1 yes i get stam back tnx to rapier hits after a dodge )
Ok I get from the discussion that grit can be seen as an offensive ability to aid melee attacks getting through for dps folk which makes sense so would not now say it should be Con specific.
I do still see it as also suitable for more defensive use rather than inbuilt to attacks so would suggest something similar in Con - a timed immunity to cc based on taunt use say - would give taunt users a bonus in PvP and PvE
I appreciate the kind words, though I think they fell on deaf ears.
This tells us everything we need to know about them. They know nothing about me other than I participate in PvP, but knows nothing of my PvE accomplishments or the PvE changes I advocate for. In fact, I’d wager with a Dec. 2 join date they’re little more than a troll.
Agreed.
Quite likely. Grit originally was intended as a way to break through melee attacks (which used to have hit-stun). They removed melee hit-stun, and in return jacked up the amount of CC abilities players have as a compensation, and then went crazy in applying grit to most/all of those cc abilities. It’s also part of the reason the sprint button was removed and players get slowed when they melee attack.
A bunch of micro-changes made in separate vacuums without consideration of the whole design.
now that u mention it, in my company its always the ones who didnt reach 60 that leave, the ones that made it got too far to turn back, with exceptions offc of those who absolutely are done with any trust in this game to succeed.
You’re trying to use your brain and almost hurt yourself.
You highly overestimate the player count between reddit/forums. The players that died off before 60 could very well be before exploits were an issue to them and some could of quit because of the exploits.
In any event if people cheated I’d assume the devs/game masters would delete said items and advantages. That’s BEFORE AGS proved to be incompetent.
