Do you think PvE is killing the game?

nope

and that’s final

Sounds like a cool game, I’ll play it when you make it.

So from day 1 PVPers have exploited every system they could find and you think it’s PVE ruining the game?

Sure, PVPers just revealed Amazon’s incompetence, but nobody wants to play competitively against people who will flag them for a false ban to win if it’s an option.

Were the game purely PVP, it would already be dead.

This is a great reply, really sums it up. This game survives on a fair and structured PvP ecosystem synergizing with a PvE system through a player driven economy. Full stop. It is kind of funny to me that the PK crowd’s tactics in-game mirror their tactics on this forum. It’s basically a zerg rush of bad ideas.

I believe the reverse actually. PvP is ruining the game.

100% agree… you want PvP go play f*cking COD, or Battlefield.
PvP in New World should of been handled the same way it is in ESO.

This is the part where developers go: lets lure players into PvP and lets put stuff that’s BiS in pvp behind pve activities…

WoW had pvp essences behind pve grind
GW2 put legendaries materials behind both PvP and PvE grind

Oh, so this is just another “Make PvP-only servers, NOW!” threads.

Got it.

Good luck with that.

I wouldn’t be playing this game if it didn’t have a pve component to it. There’s already a lot of pvp games that do pvp well and if that’s what I wanted to do, I’d be playing that game.

What NW had “done right” for me is that they’re trying to create a both pve/pvp game that works for both itches, and I appreciate that

I think these posts are killing my brain cells.

In my experience it’s toxic pvp players that drive people away.

its so funny how literally every developer studio keeps listening to these ppl cos they all think they could be like WoW. none of them realize that WoW wasnt so popular cos of its “awesome design choices and revolutionary ideas”. (lmao try read that out loud while keeping a straight face)

no it was popular because of blizzard and the warcraft IP that had already a massive fanbase and 10+ years of history prior to WoW so it attracted a type of player that normally never would have touched an mmo.

this is the error all companies make when they try to copy WoW´s success by catering to those players. the game was never rly good at any point in time. not in classic, not now and if the exact same game would have been made at the exact same time by a random company no1 had ever heard of before without all the history attached to the IP no1 would even remember its name today.

hence why this very same concept failed every single time after.

I’m honestly shocked there’s a pro PvE crowd in this game, no joke… Aside from the “main” quest it’s literally just kill this collect that, the mechanics in the almost non-existent dungeons are meh, and at the end of the day you’ve got almost no rotation.
6 dungeons, no raids, generic quests, what exactly is the point of PvE in the end game? I’m not saying you shouldn’t enjoy what you like, by all means, but it feels like if you like PvE content this is lacking. (Crafting excluded)
Maybe more PvE is coming, but with the pvpers in the thread saying there’s no meaningful end game pvp either, it looks more and more that the game just wasn’t (isn’t) complete, and that’s what’s killing the game more than any specific element of it.

The game’s truly abysmal core system design is killing the game.

Crafting is broken.
The economy is broken.
Territory control is broken.
The factions are broken.
PvP modes are broken.
Resource harvesting is broken.
Combat is broken.

The game designers literally took all the parts of early 2000s MMORPGs with their rose-tinted copy-paste buttons, ignoring the reasons that games don’t repeat these regressive designs/antipatterns 20 years later and made them the core of the game.

They then caved to whining and took out the few things that set their game apart like combat stagger, lowered the skill ceiling into the basement, and just prayed it wouldn’t upset the players that were attracted specifically for that.

So all you’ve got is a bundle of the worst parts of two-decade old MMORPGs cobbled together as a game.

All of this.

Every last bit of what you’re saying is what I’m getting at. They went back on what they were creating. To create half assed pve content that is soulless… instead of fixing the pvp and putting mechanics to handle bad actors… they just went let’s cater to the pve crowd and create a soulless copy pasta

I don’t think PVE is killing the game. I think the developers taking PvP features out killed the game.

Adding PVE stuff to supplement the core PvP element of the game was a great idea. But taking the core of the game out and leaving the rest was just… lol.

I like fixins on my steak, but if you just toss my steak in the trash and hand me a plate of grilled mushrooms I’m gonna be a little disappointed to say the least.

And then for the developers to double down and go “well nobody likes steak anyway” was just tonedeaf and ridiculous. I haven’t logged in since.

You’re clearly trolling and it’s not even good.
