- What is your character name in New World: Shmyea
- What server/world did you experience your issue on: Saba (EU Central)
- Describe the issue you are experiencing: The Haste buff from dodging/evading via Hustle (Musket), Dodge and Weave (Bow) and Allegro (Rapier) are all removed after sheathing the weapon. However, they still apply as normal when unsheathing the weapon.
This may well apply to other types of buff that are applied after certain actions but I haven’t tested them yet. - Is this a bug or an exploit: Bug
- (if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: For the last 4 months rolling around with the bow has become as natural as holding down W. Now if players want to dodge cancel and maintain the buff 100% of the time (instead of 50% of the time), they need to press Sheath, Dodge, Sheath instead of just Dodge, Sheath. The same applies to the Musket and Rapier.
If this is a stealth nerf to dodge cancelling then it’s not a very good one because it can still be applied via Sheath, Dodge, Sheath. So really it’s just a quality of life nerf and therefore likely a bug.
If it’s a deliberate nerf to dodge cancelling then why not just remove the lag at the end of the dodge altogether? - (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: Barely. It’s a relatively small thing but it’s made the bow and musket feel so much more clunky.

- What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Apply Hustle, Dodge and Weave or Allegro in the skill trees of the Bow, Musket or Rapier. Dodge and then sheath the weapon during the 2-3s haste duration and it will disappear and cause you to slow down. Dodge again while unsheathing the weapon and the haste bonus will apply in full.
