Does Maelstrom redirect Riposte or shadow nerf to Riposte?

wasn’t there a nerf on 180?

Checked already patch notes only things I found about rapier was
1.1

Rapier

  • Fixed an issue where Tondo, Flourish, and Fleche had their cooldown begin 1 frame before the hitbox would appear. This resulted in the abilities going on cooldown if the attack was interrupted early even if it did not hit.
  • Flurry: Improved the homing of Flurry to fix an issue where subsequent attacks would frequently miss or be hard to hit.
  • Overwhelm: Fixed an issue where this upgrade was incorrectly applying stamina damage instead of just block damage.
  • Tondo: Reduced cooldown from 11s to 6s.
  • And Again: Fixed an issue that caused this upgrade to only function on blocking targets.
  • Riposte: Cooldown reduced from 20s to 12s.
  • Riposte: Base Stun duration increased from 1.5s to 2s.
  • Lasting Consequence: Stun duration increased from 2s to 2.5s
  • Passive Momentum: Increased bonus damage from 25% to 30%.
  • Passive Swiftness: Fixed an issue where this passive was granting haste from bleed damage ticks instead of actual weapon hits.

And second was 1.2 patch

Rapier

  • Tondo: Fixed a typo in the description.
  • Fleche: Updated how this ability interacts with gravity to prevent it from being used to traverse up steep inclines.
  • Heavy Attack: Slightly reduced recovery time.
  • Swiftness: Fixed an issue where the haste granted by this passive ability was applying at a shortened duration with each use.

And this is stupid xd same like u can avoid damage from scream, fireball, shockwave with riposte or u can iframe dodge musket’s bomb xd

The one thing that comes to my mind is that Riposte is 180 degree hit scan?
That when triggered it registers all targets in a 180 degrees angle infront and wont hit anyone else outside of the registered targets? Still doesnt explain

This one though.

Those guys wrote weird things even today on arena I hit guy on riposte stance from back and he stunned me xd

It’s true that people are misinformed about the riposte stun.

It’s also true that the stun has never been the strong part of riposte.

Sundering riposte begs to differ. 28% damage absorption reduction into empowered fireball for 8k critt.

But yes I get what you mean.

Sure, when you hit the stun.

I wish the riposte was a skillshot with guaranteed stun instead of the easiest cc in the game to dodge

Maybe if they got rid of the grit, invulnerability, the stamina Regen, and the CDR.

Also a "guaranteed"stun with a rend by itself is preeeeetty strong.

Saying this as someone who often uses riposte.

The simple answer is: New World is riddled with bugs & major performance issues and there is probably no logical explanation to these videos.

This man got the real facts

Shockwave is easier to dodge xd but yes riposte is easier to dodge after some hours in arenas now I even attack people to dodge riposte and get this extra 40% damage from my void gauntlet perk xd

Well rapier doesnt need a nerf or a buff it needs to be redesigned. Its more of a tool than a weapon on grace side and its damage tree requires too much setup to bother in the current meta with weapons like BB doing 10k dmg in 2s with little to no skill required.

Oh and flurry is absolutely cheeks.

That concludes rapier for me and as far as the videos go Maelstorm and GW are famous for being buggy each patch. Good its now on video.

I don’t think riposte has ever been a 360(could be wrong with that, but I don’t think that has ever been the case).
1st video clear miss, 2nd video clear hit, 3rd video you turned too slowly to hit him with the stun on riposte.

the blood tree doesn’t require “too much setup”. You can throw 1 tondo stack and chunk a good portion from their HP off of just a single stack. If you do have the space to apply more stacks you simply 1 shot them.

Yeah, against pepegas maybe.

My main point is that however bursty it is it feels lackluster when compared to other burst abilities in the game. All of them are faster and more accessible. Now I am not saying make it easy but faster instead because this meta is pretty quick to begin with. By the time you set up more than 1 tondo stack + FF you can almost throw 2 Ice Spikes (more than 2 if perk is utilized) and at least 1 BB combo whilst being at less risk than with the rapier. It doesnt add up my man.

Like this?

Riposte, iFrame, but still stunned?

I’ve seen riposte 360* stun 8 players. I’ve seen riposte not stun me standing directly next to them light attacking into them as the animation triggers. Riposte is weird

Those are fair points, but considering how busted the grace tree is on rapier it’s balanced overall. if they buffed the other tree it would become a requirement to use rapier

Exactly and thats why I personally advocate for a redisgn or an adjustment rather straight up nerf or buff.

I mean grace tree has an escape, dodge and a stun. Its a perfect tool for avoiding fights and 9 out of 10 grace tree players that I see use it to reposition only. Its like an extension to bow/musket tree rather than a weapon xD
