Don’t understand the idea of forcing light players to engage in a standing fight with medium/heavy users

Yeah, I like the openess of the class system myself but it is becoming painfully obvious they cant figure out how to balance it. Its certainly more difficult to balance but not impossible.

Yes, the crafting system is utter garbage and honestly should be on the top priorities list at this point.

i do not agree. for starters, bow already has evade shot and haste. Rapier is a melee weapon which is used for getting away. Being a ranged dps has all the advantage it needs: being RANGED. You should be able to position yourself well + and do enough damage to the enemy until they catch up. if you give ranged people escape skills and op dodge roll, the gap closers of melee builds have no meaning at all. Because the range always stays the same. And lets say light melee fights with heavy or medium melee. Without the new stamina changes, light armored player has the option to retreat, heal and come back. He has %20 damage buff already, and medium doesnt even give much protection. And Heavy? well, heavy armor is literally a coffin you nail yourself into at the moment. You lose all the mobility and you dont have enough armor to back it up. If you get caught for a couple-good pvpers, youre dead, no chance of escaping and you already do no damage as well so its even unlikely that you will manage to even harm them well.

Where did you get this idea from? Sounds made up to me. This is surely not a published position by AGS.

Can. But fire mage cant run away from bowman while its not the case other away. Also with ptr changes bow will do much more dmg, have easier aim and same hitbox as FS. So FS wont have any chance vs bow after next patch. Now they have own + and -, but it will end in 1-2 weeks.

you do realize we have limited points on GA right? let me tell you how it really is:

  1. Charge: gap closer or get away skill, hits like shit
  2. GW: escapable, dodgable, nerfed recently
  3. Reap: Unreliable, staggers more than actually pulling IF you can hit the opponent
  4. Whirlwind: just bad
  5. Execute: too slow, cant hit unless youre surrounded by many people so that everywhere is a hitbox
  6. Maelstorm: This one is the only really good ability GA has. it hits twice first is with grit, pulls, area damage.
  7. passive healing is shit, its not self sustain my dude.

Look, Greataxe is a jack of all trades, master of none kind of weapon. it’s weakness is it does not have an area where it truly excels.

  1. Mages passes them easily on area damage
  2. Spear is better on 1 on 1 with same experience and skill

that light attack with grit? did you ever manage to hit an experienced player with consecutive 4-5 light attacks? XD if you did, i have news for you, that player wasnt good. AND grit can be affected by some abilities. you want GA to lose something? sure, but you cant ruin a weapon for its’ design. i would gladly, lovingly give up on that “self sustain” for some more damage for single target lol. we dont have massive CC or Massive mitigation or self sustain, certainly not all at the same time  so dont just look at the skill trees and go like “OMG it has EVERYTHING” it doesnt work like that man.

Edit/PS: Just fyi, im a long time GA user, but im also a Spear user, infact lately im using spear more. So im not just trying to defend the weapon i currently use.

7 more pros than every other weapon. + grit shouldn’t exist on m1. Having the ability to do something as powerful as negating a cc with no cost is a pretty ape like incentive game play.

Highest successful weapon in the game, most used weapon in the game, and most noob friendly weapon in the game. It over performs and you’re on crack if you think it doesnt.

It doesn’t have to be published, lol, they just go straight on in to implementing it in to the game.

Bruiser Melee > Everyone else, at least this seems like the direction they are trying to force.

Devs can’t Dex apparently.

Have you seen their gameplay videos?

Man, oh man, when Dynasty got the mutated rotation they published a video, and it’s painful to watch.

The lack of consequences for wearing light armour doing big points worth of heals and damage and dashing away like bamby is not enjoyable.

Light dex is less of the issue its anyone grabbing anything plus mobility weapon and making certain builds feel toxic.

I play med/light/heavy and I can say that certain builds cant even fight other builds. Having the ability to catch up and force a melee engagement at the cost of making it harder to close that gap makes it more fair imo because then you actually have to take risks.

What is the fun in playing melee if you catch up to someone and they run away and you have no way to catch them.

Yes you do. Grav well is the biggest CC in game. Mitigation comes from being able to wear heavy or medium armor while playing 300 strength 200 con. It has nothing to do with how many points you can spend. Everyone has a point limit.

It gets worse for GA because you can literally pair it with any weapon you want because you don’t need another weapon really. This is why people run it with IG and become super oppressive.

Yup and you dont even need to spec into int to do decent damage with the IG… just use it for the CC and use axe for dps.

Healer > Tank > Melee/ranged dps > healer

rock paper scissors only works with clearly defined classes unfortunately. :frowning:

Lol, its not XD im not gonna bother reading your comment furthermore after that claim, sorry.

So don’t? I couldn’t care less.

What AoE is better than grav well?
Are you telling me that you don’t have way more mitigation playing 300/200 heavy/med than a range player that has to play at least 350 of mainstat to do damage and play in light?
Are you telling me that people are not playing GA with IG so they can totally suppress people?

Nothing in there I said was wrong. So act ignorant. No skin off my back.

They are called apes for a reason. Its easier to dismiss them than reason because the only thing they understand is unga bunga. Getting 1450 damage with 300 str advantage is normal to them while a rapier player with 420 dex stays at 1230 lol.

A weapon designed for multi target hits harder on single targets than a single target weapon that requires prescion.

Let me tell you playing 300 str 200 con you still get a lot of damage from rapier lol try it yourself they can stun you plus heavy you and like 30 percent of your life gone not near 1300 damage lol plus crazy mobility…

No reason to still keep complaining about ga lol they nerf even more gravity well what else do you want remove grit from 300 will mean light players using other weapon will shit on them with a cc chain build you shouldn’t be fighting melees close range if you using distance weapons and expect to win lol

Lol no weapon should have full immunity to cc from simply spamming 1 button that cost nothing. If i can play rapier spear they should be able to perform even better

100%

There is a counter to every build. You won’t be able to kill everyone, especially if it’s someone that knows what they’re doing.

Dex is a hard counter to melee, and that’s fine. The thing is, a dex is gonna struggle killing a knowledgeable melee player as well. Dex vs Melee can often end as a stale mate…especially if it’s a bruiser with decent defensive perk gear.
