Perhaps I didn’t make my point clear. Not everyone flagged is running PvP missions. I know this, but I have no way of knowing that. I must assume they are and kill them or I am being negligent. This puts a lot of low level players in my crosshairs. I don’t like being a lowbie ganker, but this game requires me to be one.
Don’t get mad at getting ganked when you chose to turn pvp on.
opposing faction members entering other faction zones. Should be automatically flagged for pvp. Or they can pay tax to the opposing faction to enter their zone
for 30 minutes. When the 30 minutes expire they would repay the tax again.
But they do get mad. And they are very vocal about it in game. They actually expect me to just let low level flagged players run around in my territory because they are “no threat to me”. They don’t understand that EVERY flagged player in our territory, regardless of level, is a threat. The game made it this way.
There’s nothing wrong with “If it’s red, it’s dead.”, in fact that’s pretty much Rule 1.
Come and play real PvP games. Noone cares about your level, your experiance. You set foot into theyr territory , you are dead. And thats good so… Territory has its meaning. In NW teritory got no meaning…
You got the point there. Why do I own territory, if I can’t kill anyone who steals from my territory and isn’t in my faction. Its like, I own a house, and you come in and steal all my stuff, and I can just stay there and wave to you because i cant fight you … :))) God this game is soo bad with this flagging crap!
Bro. You are totally OK. Carebears just destroy the game
If pvp-players would not demand “incentives” for flagging, you could be sure, a flagged player is looking for a fight, and would not have to feel bad! So, no, it’s not the dev’s fault you are in that predicament
Hey, you’re right, they ARE stealing from my faction by harvesting resources on our land. They deserve to die regardless!
It’s common sense though. They shouldn’t be mad at you. What the heck? Haha
Where are people demanding incentives? I don’t think any player actually asked for more EXP per kill while flagged, or higher Faction Tokens, etc etc
and pretty much every pvp-related thread.
I meant before the game was released. These are recent suggestions, all down within the recent 2wks. The game was always going to be PvP focused and the designers already had the faction system thought up leagues before players were even able to get a glimpse of it.
The problem is, without the pve, it would not stand a chance, not because it would be a bad game, but because the pvp would still not be able to compete with arena-games, and to counteract this, the game needs strong pve-content.
And it stands, as long as pvp needs incentives, it will suck. Because to many people will flag, despite intending to avoid pvp.
Honestly don’t know why each territory doesn’t have some gladiator-style arena you can queue for and decide if you wanna do PvE (against captured creatures, and corrupted NPCs), or against other players with options for 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 (maybe 5v5) where you get a new token type that can be used to purchase crafting materials for a unique gear/weapon set with the same level thresholds as faction gear.
I have multiple threads I started well before release. The one he linked of mine was just my most recent.
Risk vs reward. Learn it.
Why would I risk losing out on significant amounts of time traveling around the world, especially while leveling (60 is different), without any kind of significant potential reward for doing so? That’s pointless, regardless of whether I am a hardcore pvp lover or not. The reward (incentive) has to be there, otherwise people won’t flag.
The only reward you can expect is having fun fighting other players. If you expect anything else from pvp, you will always be disappointed. Any other reward for flagging will keep players from actually engaging in pvp! That’s practically a law of nature!
