With the upcoming “golden scarab” I think they will make crafting way to easy.
People are now able to get decent gear out of the pvp reward track and the markets are filled to the brim with nearly best in slot items for very little gold.
It´s not necessary that every casual has bis gear so please dont make crafting too easy.
The very good (but not BIS) stuff will trickle down to all the players while the big comps try to get most of their roster Best in slot gear. There really is no reason to make it even easier!
To the people reading this: Please just look at the inflation of BIS items in the trade channel. Stuff that was over 1m is now near 300k or even less.
There will always be items people will pay absurd amounts of gold for but it´s not necessary for every casual to have those. + It wouldnt make sense to tryhard at all when everybody just gets bis stuff for free
A lot of crafting professions are a net loss right now. For example, If you level engineering it’ll be like 5 years before you make back what you put into leveling it.
No - they are moving right direction for crafting and gearing in general. New players getting caught up faster to where veterans prevents the very cannibalization that we have seen in this game with the haves vs have nots.
Anyone advocating for making it difficult for new players to gain equal footing as vets wants the game to suffer.
If they cannot equalize stats in PvP modes then the next best approach is to make good gear easy to obtain so people can jump right in and compete.
Yeah well 500k is gold cap so it makes sense that items should be common enough to fit that price range. Everything is easy now that you get near BiS items from PvP tracks. Crafters should get some special care too. For example i gambled 80k worth of mats today in crafting and will get 20k in return, not fun.
i will push back, i think they should make crafting easier, most of players i know dont have much gold some have under 10k, only rich companies can afford FULL bis at the moment for teh entire company. i think every players should have a fair chance to compete, make bis easier thanks
help casual and make territories less important to own.
The fact you think its normal for an item to be twice the goldcap makes me wonder, you want a mmo for hundreds or thousands?
You rather see cities full of players max level and low levels or deserted?
Any MMO to work out needs to be Massive Multiplayer, stop gatekeeping we want the game to suceed and an increase of the playerbase.
Everyone that complaining about the gold distribuiton and catchup mechanics is part of the 1% that recieve profits from EF and WW.
No item should cost 60% the goldcap.
The needs of the majority should be priority, not the ego of the minority.
i got a main char and a twink. my twink has just purple two perk stuff with resil + shirking fortification and im doing very good in pvp.
you could buy my whole gear for like 20k rn and i could be near bis for like idk 120k if i just looked a bit. Why just why the fuck should a casual that plays like 5 hours a week have the same gear as a dryhard competitive player? It just doesnt make sense.
And if i read here that some people have 10k in their pocket thats just utterly bullshit man when i just pushed the expertise on my twink with dungeon runs i made like 80k in a week without playing the market or anything.
The market is so flooded with good stuff rn that crafters cant even sell near bis stuff because nobody wants to buy it even if it´s cheap af.
in the beginnig gear differences were huge but now everybody can gear up very easily through pvp track dungeons and a bit of trading. Players literally get a decent health divine amulet for free now and u guys are still complaining about the gear.
Why just why should a person that plays 5h per week have the same gear as a person that plays 40? It just doesnt make sense.
yes the voice of reason finally speaks totally agreed they are killing the markets… In addition what mmo is BIS gear so easy to get? I totally agree this is just making the game turn into a grind fest of a different kind where the only way to make coin will be to farm all day long in already highly contested resource areas to make a bit of coin!
Getting good gear is already too easy and the crafting changes implemented in the last patch were enough… this is not necessary and will help to kill already dead markets… People look at this so short sighted… only way to make money in New World will be to farm all day long in already highly contested resource areas! Not my idea of fun, just so the casual gets his BIS gear easier… AGS wake up to yourselves!
Good gear being so damn expensive is not good for the game. Why? Because builds are hidden behind gear. If it was just stats… Okay, make it harder. But half the fun of MMOs is theory crafting and this game ruins all that fun. Bullshit design. If half your build in wow was gated behind gear, the game would have died in 2006.
u can have very very good pvp gear for next to nothing. Nobody can argue with that. And if your skilllevel is above the enemy their better gear probably wont be enough to win the fight.
But i dont see why everybody should be handed the last few % better stuff.
In wow people couldnt even join a raid to get Bis items if they werent competitive af and had a great guild.
Everybody is talking about how unfair it is and stuff while complety ignoring that you can just buy fkn great gear for almost nothing.
+Pvp track with a view dungeon pieces is in most cases more than enough to be competitive in opr
the game has gotten soooo much easier already and u are still complaining. Where is the fun when i have a full bis set so easily ? There are no more goals to achive when i just get handed stuff for nothing
correct me if I am wrong, but your argument seems to be:
“don’t make crafting BIS gear easy, because then everyone will have BIS gear” but you haven’t made (as far as I can tell) a strong argument for why everyone shouldn’t play the game in BIS gear. I will try to address your points in turn:
“People are now able to get decent gear from the PVP track” - There are decent named items on this track, but they are not considered “bis” and no serious or casual player looking to optimise their build will use these items. You could get lucky with a RNG drop on this track, but it is not a reliable way to get BIS gear easily. Plus, many players don’t play PVP and are focused fully on PVE content, making this track irreverent to them.
“markets are filled to the brim with nearly best in slot items for very little gold” - This is an important improvement to the state of the game that I am glad that you raised. Now, nearly bis gear is accessible by casual players and this has lead people buying more gear and investing in a variety of builds. Previosuly, it was too expensive to invest in armor and weapons to be both a tank, a healer, a ranged dps, and a mage, and a melee dps. But now, for relatively cheap, most players can pick up decent gear on the trade post and play test a new build. Also, can i point out that these items are, as you have said, “Near bis” and not actual BIS items. Those are still selling for a very high price (a life staff sold the other day for 1.4 million on my server)
“It´s not necessary that every casual has bis gear” - It doesn’t have to be necessary. It is preferred. The more players who get to play the game in the build that they want, the better. when players all have access to BIS gear, then the winner of a fight/war is truly the most skilled/coordinated. When some players ave amazing gear and others do not, then the fight is not a fair fight. This feels bad for the losing team, and undermines the skill of those players who have Bis gear and are genuinely skilled players of the game.
“Please just look at the inflation of BIS items in the trade channel. Stuff that was over 1m is now near 300k or even less.” It is APPALLING that the game every got to a state where someone would pay more than gold cap for a single item. The new changes to crafting are good for both buyers and sellers of gear. Buyers have more items to pick from, and are therefore more likely to encounter an item they want to buy. Sellers have more gear to sell, and are therefore more likely to make a sale. Previously, BIS rolls were so rare that they could only be afforded by massive companies (or pay-to-win gold buyers) and a crafter could go months without making a single sell-able item. But now, with the more abundant BIS supply, the demand is beginning to be met and as you have noticed, prices are deflating back to an affordable price that many players can begin to afford. This is good for the economy because it means that money is being distributed more evenly between players and more frequently. Instead of MASSIVE sums of money going to one or two players each week who get lucky with 1 bis roll, there is now 300k or so going to 7 or 8 crafters per week who role BIS. This makes for a more even gold distribution and a more healthy marketplace, because lets face it, no one likes a market where big companies can bully-jack up market prices (i’m looking at your squirming vines)
“It wouldnt make sense to tryhard at all when everybody just gets bis stuff for free” I dont understand this argument? Wouldn’t tryhard’s want BIS gear? are you saying there are people are there who aim to win from their “gear” advantage instead of winning by skill? I just dont understand the point you are making sorry , perhaps you could clarify. It wouldn’t make sense to try hard, which is good as far as I can tell?
Anyway, I hope my points have made sense, I am happy to hear your thoughts Thanks for the thought provoking post.
I agree. The july update was great, you can get bis items for reasonable prices now. But with this golden scarab ill be able to get pretty rare bis items with ease… the market will probably completely crash. And i dont think theyll make the scarab that rare
