Like you can capture some animals and then befriend them and eventually ride them. maybe stud them out in some jazzy clothes. Maybe they live in a portion of your house? Or like maybe everyone can buy a stable in a town?
I don’t know, but I don’t feel the need to travel faster. Fast travel is plenty good. Minimal running around other than node to node.
I’d be much more interested in mounts if it was a pet system of some kind. Riding mounts purely for the cosmetic bragging rights!
Animal Husbandry skill? Ok maybe not since thats about raising them to eat.
I’m not sure how mounts will eventually get implemented into the game, animal tamer, creature handler, you name it, would all be good ideas, but there will also be cosmetic skins to be purchased, this is still a business. I can see a quest down the road, giving a basic mount. GW2 and their mount system would be a good area to look into, without the flying aspect of it. Just to be able to have a mount option when you’re on cooldown or you’re not near a travel shrine would be nice.
Fast Travel is still the quickest way around the world and would stil be used often, but having mounts with as big as the world has become since launch would be nice.
Speed Mounts will make new world into small world. Theyre probably thinking cash shop mounts $ _ $. But it would just add to wpvp griefing.
Go with OP’s pets its better than travel speed. Which will fundamentally make the game worse.
As I said multiple times, me personally I don’t think mounts are necessary in this game, or even good. The world is rather closed, a lot of tight spaces and hills where your mounts could have problem to move around. The fast traveling is there if you need to go from one place to another. Shrines, houses, inn…
