don’t update the servers together - keep in mind the timezones

Yes, that is common sense. But whoever is in charge at AGS clearly lacks it.
If I botched a release this bad at my job, I’d be fired. I expect the same to happen here.
if the server patch requires a client up date they would have to drop all servers at once due to the client update being released every where at the same time the only quetion I have is do they have teams on each region or is it the same team doing one region at a time
No they don’t. Steam supports regional patching.

what happens to the users that play in a different region than they live?
They would be unable to connect, either with a ‘require client update’ error or ‘version mismatch’ error.
