I was in a mutated level 9 expedition when the very short warning for maintenence went out. There was no way we could finish a gold run in less than 30 minutes, but we tried to rush the boss so we wouldn’t waste the orb & entry fees. Also to make sure we at least got SOME Umbral Shards… Anyhow, we didn’t make it in time and server shut down on the last boss.
Now I wasted a mutated orb, my teammates wasted their entry fee, and no one got any Umbral Shards. I have made several tickets about this already, and I really hope to get reimbursed for the wasted mutated orb.
Imagine that could be communicated in a timely manner. This game time gates people. Imagine spending that once a week time gate orb and having it go poof because no one had any knowledge the server was about to come down.
Communication is the simplest thing this game could get right and you guys cant even get that right.
So we are going to pretend the combat issues are a non issue? When are we going to get a real word on this? It’s been over a week and no changes. Any other successful mmo company would have hotfixed these issues within 48 hours.
This is pretty cringe, no forum post/notes & EU going down in primetime as usual and nobody knows why or how long… yet again another bit of salt on the wound for the loyal playerbase.
You have to see how an unexplained downtime (Please refere to the forum - with no post, and only 15 minutes notice) is a huge issue, right? That is something easily corrected on your side since it’s just a server maintenance.
There is no way it should be done with such short notice harming the playerbase that could be in dungeons with no form of compensation for that…
I feel like Amazon employees and devs put on a fake customer service face but in reality they just laugh about how we play this sinking ship of a game and think to themselves how can we upset the players this week.
I simply cannot believe this utter lack of respect. Server maintenance is understandable. Even unexpected like this down time.
Then you tell us to check the forums and there’s nothing. There still is nothing as of 1:38pm EST.’
If you can’t tell us for some odd cryptic reason then at least say, it’s an internal matter that we can’t discuss. If it’s a failure with AWS servers and you’re avoiding making the parent company look bad you could again state this in the same manner.
Emergencies happen. Stuff hits the fan. We all get that and I at least don’t expect a full technical breakdown in a post of what’s happening.
When you say you are going to do something you follow through on it. The warning said to check the forums. Chances are this is a pre-written warning and the statement to check the forums is just part of the formula.
This doesn’t mean you can ignore it. At the very least you can state that there are no details at this time.
Now I’m imagining a number of scenarios. Most of them involve an internal communication system that is either unmanageable or completely dysfunctional.
Those are my most reasonable guesses. But I had to wade through my unreasonable reactions first.
What is it going to take to wake AGS from it’s dogmatic slumber?
This really puts me in a place where I simply have run out of words.
Do note… That the in-game notice was probably closer to an hour or more advance. I just logged in and saw it and then came here with 15min left on the clock. Your points still apply - just want to make sure the details are polished.
