Downward Trend Continuing

Thats because big streamers just follow what bring views, aka flavor of the month, of course they will return for a chance at more subs and donations. The actual content means nothing as they make their own content.

The real streamers of New World are the people who have 20 viewers watching them play for past year +. That should tell you how popular NW actually is when the clout chasers are gone.

Same dude. I been away for 3 months and omfg the game have more bugs and desync in 3 months ago . no matter what content comes up the numbers will not go up. They will gain players at the exp pack other nope, Why ? Other games who do it better. The player base who still playing are biased and don’t wanna hear the facts. The facts are 2 other big mmo comings out and 3 if you count D4 as one as well .

The game Engine is so bad

This. Already convinced my gaming friend group to come back twice and nothing changed. No way in hell am I wasting their time again lol

Sometimes those sub increases are at the cost of the developer/game.

Asmon Caterpillar Brows did not think it was fair that he could not gank low levels during testing. He cried about it so hard, his minions flooded media about it. This was the prime reason we went from equalized PvP to the GS system. An influencer wanted Gear > Skill. The end result is a GS grind that many hate.

SO in all truths, his increase in subs created a continual hate for GS grind and a vicious cycle back to somewhat equalized PvP.

Asmon can be considered a key factor in the decline of NW’s population.

Dont worry about steam charts. Play the game if you like it. Make your own decisions, dont follow others like a sheep.

Without getting too much into it, the big names following trends are similar to locusts. They swoop in with big crouds, do damage and then leave. Not healthy.

People are either waiting for the upcoming balance patch on the 28th, which will change a lot of things, or…they are not and the game will likely decline until the next major update. I don’t know which way it’s going to go. The hype seems low, but I obviously could be wrong.

I plan to come back, at least temporarily, to mess around with a few builds once the patch drops.

If OPR and arenas were balanced and fun and if I could progress reasonably well PvPing exclusively, I’d come back to new world as my main game.

I would 100% be addicted to the game and logging a ton of hours if New World adopted Albion Online’s open world and instanced pvp sandbox model and gearing/progression classless systems.

New World is bittersweet. The art team and audio team did an incredible job on the game. Its my favorite aesthetic of any game ive played in modern memory (besides the gear skins).

The game system design choices on the other hand are abysmal though and ruin the game. The crafting system, territory control, revenue and war innaccessibility are poision pills to a beautiful game.

Weapon balance is and has been very poor with ranged weapons and light armor being very oppressive and overperforming in pvp and allowed to do so as the devs havent wanted to nerf them further for pve so they let pvp go to crap.

No effort made to fix core game play system design issues with pvp letting them rot was a very poor choice. It is the foundation the game was building off of and it is/was extremely faulty. They were too concerned with generating new content when a lot of the player base just wanted to get into wars without politics and/or have linear gearing progression.

NW’s gearing progression is a major turn off.

They gave up on pvp thats why i left, havent been on since November and i still found no reason to come back. This season shi isnt worth shi :joy: they need a new lead cause this is just sad. They have no clue what they’re doing.

There’s not enough pvp content. A big piece of the active community logs in for a 30 min war and logs out immediately after.

Huge beautiful open world and completely unutilized

At this point I think a lot of people have been asking themselves “why is AGS purposefully self sabotaging”? It’s TOO obvious what would help or save populations but they DONT do it…hell they DONT even acknowledge it. It’s hard to tell, but I’d say it’s impossible to keep making bad choices at the frequency they are. My guess had become a Public Relations stunt. The Amazon name holds so much power they literally have to do the motions of letting the game die rather then a full shutdown which would hurt later endeavors. Let it go slow over 3 years and no one asks questions

Delete bots, exploiters, cheaters + improve the game with the tons of suggestions from the community (which devs pretend to listen in the staged youtube videos) & the game might be a stable fun one. So far, every change & no-change in the last 4 months was make the game worse & numbers dont lie (numbers which are also buffed by the “things” i mentioned in the start against which no action is taken, at least not efficient).

Is nit in good spot

Same poopoo 3 companys holding all map and getting richer every week, game don’t have hook,

agreed, this game will not have another chance, ags has proven they are completely incompetent developers with a useless game engine. the bug reports section doesn’t even need specifics, just write in New World under the bug reports, because this game is just one big giant bug. they’re smoking something special if they think i’m going to pay for a battle pass and an expansion. every patch its more bugs, exploits etc. the game is getting worse imo, i recently came back and its just not even worth saying whats wrong with it, new world is whats wrong with this game. no there isnt a chance this could become a good mmo, literally zero chance this becomes a good game.

facts, i can tell you nothings changed since you left in november and im done playing unfinished games personally. dev leads are clueless and dont deserve another chance.

Just hop on man, the game is at a great spot. I spend a lot of time on the forums and I play the game about 4 hours everyday. I play only pvp.

As much as I would love to see this, let’s be honest, AGS is completely incapable of even attempting to make a pvp server. They don’t care about the player base(see how they handled FSS server transfers), the team doesnt have enough resources or even the knowledge(as can be seen by how long it takes to make simple updates, bug fixes, QoL patches, hot fixes, literally anything. Christ they can’t even fix the teleport or crafting bug). Even if they announced plans for a PvP server, it would take them a year if not more to implement it. The game will be dead by then. As many have said, the only reason there’s still 15k average playing is because there currently isn’t anything else worth playing. 15k total average divided by 24 servers. Yikes.

I truly believe staple features like transmog and achievements and other things are holding the game back and making it so people don’t have goals set for themselves in game. Looking cool is almost always desired, showing off accomplishments too. This kind of thing keeps people tinkering in your game and that is exactly what New World needs. There is also a large amount of negative publicity around the game and it needs to break that trend by releasing these things, so that it is what is being talked about instead of negatives like its horrible fps etc.
