Dungeon content being blocked by designers?

Before I explain my reasoning, I suggest to the game designers that they should consider REALLY consider adding repeatable quest lines to get the orbs (1-2 hours at most, depending on the orb), instead of crafting…
OR change the orbs to permanent items instead of 1 time use.

I feel that dungeon content is being blocked by the tuning orb’s unavailability…
Except for the Armine dungeon, where you get an orb from a main quest and an easy to do 3 step side quest, you can’t get orbs for the rest except crafting…
And the materials are so unreal, so time consuming and hard to get that people will not make it.

Example:
Armine orb - 25

  • 10 corrupted silver - Where to get this? Minor corrupted breaches does not drop it, and I closed a few major, but still not get it from the chest…
  • Iron Chisel - Faction NPC - 50 Gold + reputation?
  • Eternal Hearty - 50 Soul/Life/Death Motes? That’s about 7 plant harvesting for each, where those plants are usually harvested and their respawn time is about 15 minutes? Lot of wait time or running around for search
  • 50 Stone Block - Ok, this is just 200 stone, that’s about 10 minutes to farm to get to a hilly area
    Worth: 200 Gold++ ??? Drops in the dungeon are unsellable and I only got 1 upgrade after 5 run, that is similar to an item that I can buy in AH for about 100 Gold…

This is the lowest level and it’s already so hard to make that if it’s not offered by quests no one would do it, because when you can craft it, you already out level it and it’s not a challenge, and won’t offer any good loot.

After hitting 35, I tried to do Starstone, because you get an Orb when you finish all the sidequests in Everfall. So hard to find party, that you need to spam it for hours as a healer or a tank role for a party to start forming… I still see that people go to Armine at lvl35, because they like to do dungeon, but there are no alternatives.
Then at 45, comes the depths… We already have people at that range, but what I see it’s impossible to find a party as almost no one has the orb (Full sidequest clear of Restless Shore)

The Depths orb:

  • Starmetal Chise: 400 Gold - WTF???
  • Loadstone Block - Lvl 100 Stonecutting - At 45??? WTF?? I am only at 66 at level 40, and I farmed a bit for it…
  • Energy Core - 50 from each motes…
  • 10 Corrupted Shard = 200 Corrupted Silver, if you get it from major corrupted portal, then that takes hours of farming.

Does one dungeon run worth this much gold and time farming for it??? IF it would be permanent, then people would consider it

Is it same on MaX level? I cannot just farm dungeons like in other games? Now it is such a pain, have to wait for someone who has the item to enjoy dungeoning. Crafiting will make you bancrupt in 1 day…

I had no idea it was this bad. I thought it was odd we needed an item for each run of the dungeons, but i figured they would be easily obtained through a quest or something. Refund is sounding better and better the longer I spend in queue reading about horrible QoL things later in game.

Random group : Used my orb, second we zoned in the Main tank goes “oh suppose its a full group no room for my mate… well bye” and left.

Managed to make it to last boss, but 3 of us never been before, and was just that bit too much to finish.

Didnt think much off it until went and looked up what was needed for another key.
The only content I really enjoy is groupage and dungeons, to have it blocked by spanking a few hours and gold “just cos” to then watch people bail is very vexing.

Some serious quality of life stuff missing atm and this is one of them…

But you DO GET free orb for each expedition, not only for Amrine…
ps. I’m currently waiting for my friends with Dynasty Shipyard, alrdy with an orb in my inventory. Yes, a free orb.

A party of 5 “newbies” means the party can enter expedition 5 times. That should be more than enough for leveling and newbie gearing purposes. At endgame nobody is going to craft Armine Tuning Orbs unless they can be traded. All the mats will go towards the top level expeditions, like Lazarus Instrumentality or Garden of Genesis. And those are not supposed to be spammable 24/7.

IMO the Orb situation is just ok.

haha. The desync in amrine is so bad that I am thankful I did not use my orb. I was in reach-around distance of the zombies and they managed to register 0 damage from my great axe. Global chat confirmed issue and my party reported seeing them in different locations. Orbs should be free till Amazon gets good servers, oh wait isn’t that their business?

I see, you did not read my post or just did not consider the consequences, because you get a free orb and only play with a fixed party of friends and if you do not have orbs anymore you won’t go to the dungeon as you outlevel it soon. This is not about the Amrine orb…
For Lazarus or other endgame dungeons is it ok, to enter only 5 times? Because all of you only get one orb? (If you will even get one from the main story line…) Then what other content you can do at max level, when you don’t have the 1 free orb anymore? PVP?
Sorry a huge chunk of the players more focused on PVE content and not interested in PVP…
Just for what it cost to make an orb for the end game dungeon Lazarus:

  • 1 Asmodeum Chisel: 7k Faction point + 750 Gold
  • 10 Runestone (lvl200 Stonecutting) = 50 Voidstone + 10 Putrid Lodestone = 60 Putrid Lodestone + 100 Lodestone + 400 Lodestone Brick = 2500 Lodestone + 60 Putrid Lodestone + 800 Stone Brick (12800 Stone) = Wow, nice time consuming farming just for 1 orb component
  • 1 Lazarus Core: 3 Gloving Spore (Siren’s Stand Elite Chest chance) + 3 Earth Totem (Malevolance Elite Chest chance) + 1 Elemental Hearth (50 from all motes) 1 Undying Heart = 10 Death/Life/Soul Quintessence (purple) + 10 Blight Seed(Drops from Garden of Genesis boss)
  • 20 Corrupted Lodestone = 40 Corrupted Crystal = 120 Corrupted Shard = 480 Fragment = 2400 Sliver = That’s a lot of Major Corrupted Portal…

Dude, this looks way over the top for 1 endgame dungeon run when there is not much other PVE content to do…

  • As the Corrupted SLiver are BoP, you need to farm it personally, can’t get it from the market…
  • Blight Seed is also BoP, so you need to do 10 other Dungeon run for a lower level dungeon, where you do not get any meaningful loot, and also need to craft that orb… :slight_smile:
  • You need to craft the Undying Heart too, as that also BoP, lvl 150 StoneCutting, start to grind it.

I won’t call this situation ok… Because you get so much Amrine orb because the low level players and you outlevel it after a few run, does not mean that on higher level you have the same situation when your leveling speed slows down, or you hit the level cap…

Did you see anyone even craft the cheapest Amrine orb, instead of using the 2 free orb they could get, because I did not…

PvP game. Quests are made to work around pvp, world is made to work around pvp. PvE dungeons are there to push the main story a littlebit, get some free gear a littlebit, and its done in such a way you don’t end up TBC-ing your way to max lvl without ever exiting instanced dungeons where you don’t have to fight for mobs and gathering nodes, cities, companies and everything else.
Absolutely same thing happened in GW2 when that game released. It was a PvP endgame game, focused around PVP made for PvP, untill the developers started morphing it into a PvE abomination.
Instanced dungeons are a 3 player privilige, and you should sink time preparing to enter one, as the gear there is quite good, and you are basically getting it for free.

Oh give me a break,

The devs specifically changed the game to support pve for the masses. The game started as pvp but has changed to allow for pure pve play as well. Also this idea that people will do pvp if they can’t run dungeons is a dumb idea.

PvE people will quit the game before playing pvp. It’s not hard to understand.

Now let’s go all the way and allow dungeon content like other games to be repeatable without an entire attunement process cause that’s what it is.

At the minimum the game should allow for repeatable quests where you can earn a key. This way you can still add a limit to the keys without frustrating the player.

The fact keys are the way they are is an insane design choice.

PVE people will leave the game if it stay this way as you wish. Then folks like you will cry on this forum “ther is no people to play, no economy to interract, amazon fix it now”

No, it’s not what I wish…
It’s how this is… I made this post so the designers will recognize one of their highly flawed design choice and can fix it before people start to leave…
