Dunning–Kruger effect is a serious affliction here

First rule of Dunning-Kruger Club is that you don’t know you’re in Dunning-Kruger Club.

pretty funneh coming from the guy who was going to quit the game because he got killed by a rapier

looks like we got a .2 kd player here with a .15 kd player agreeing with him.

yeah that was a serious post and not at all satire.

A what now? Kd? Kill death? I don’t PvP in this game so it makes no sense anyway to me

Someone stole my comment…

what setup(s) do you run?

this is an informational post,

The OP has a serious case of their own post.

The Dunning-Kruger has been proven wrong on many occasions with Psychologists.

The primary use since it was disproven is: Quote: " The Dunning-Kruger effect is commonly invoked in online arguments to discredit other people’s ideas. Endquote.

ALL the major Psychology white papers discredit the theory and flatly state it is wrong.

This is used by people that are unfamiliar with Psychology in an attempt to support there own uninformed or twisted view on a subject. The OP should have read why the theory was discredited before tossing it around.

Ugh. This is why I hate PvP and PvE being so integrated… what is harmful in one is helpful in another.

I see many complaining about food buffs stacking. I get the complaint from the PvP side (though I don’t necessarily agree with it). The problem is, if they fix this, then any solo PvE is going to involve a lot of waiting around for health to regen. It takes a long time to regen thousands of HP! It’s boring! But if you stack the food, it goes by relatively quickly.

I, for one, am not partial to standing around waiting when playing a game.

are you sure, because its in full effect here.

it also hasnt been disproven at all, it is still a theory, which is ridiculous since it is easily observable in real life. looks like YOU are suffering from it, since you obviously arent as well read or smart as you think you are.

im guessing youre one of those who throws around ‘settled science’ when referencing climate change.

Hahaha, I was thinking this since alpha, less about weapons and combat and more about the game design experts and god level coders whining on the forums.

It is the internet, you keep typing to satisfy yourself. Also, the fact that you think a theory can’t be disproven and yet you still try to use it is your problem, obviously among many. Good luck.

+1 for knowing what the Dunning–Kruger effect is and correctly applying it.

a theory can be disproven, this one hasnt yet. try to keep up

Exact same problem as Leauge of Legends has, OPR is a good example, people choose to ignore Baron (ironically the same issue as with LoL) and then wonder why they lose when they just spend most time fighting and no time thinking.

this effect is easily observable in video games. anyone arguing against this is a true dunce. its harder to prove on here, but was very easy on battlelog (for battlefield), where your KD and stats were on full display.

99% of people crying about ‘xyz’ being overpowered had KDs below .5, so i imagine we are seeing the same here. people ranked 80-100 in wars, if they even get into them (since they are so bad)

any time a balance thread was created that was reasonably thought out, with examples, actual data, and cordial debate, it was usually someone who was 2.0+, and any mouth foamers in those threads were again, below .5 kd.
