All mobs already have certain physical resistance. Skeleton or ancients I think have inherent thrust resistance while Angry Earth or maybe corrupted have slash resistance.
Same mobs have elemental resistance too - angry earth lightning (if you use gem to convert) / ancient fire / corrupted ice - and they added extra resistance to elemental dmg from fire or void.
use void balde/rapier with INT gear on. Easy pogchamp.
yea - if I would go melee I can swap to great axe, spear or hatchet also, easy pogchamp
Mages get absolutely screwed in every way in this game. Where is the strike resistant mutation? It’s honestly laughable at this point. Whoever is designing this garbage clearly plays GA Hammer.
thrust gets boned on both angry earth and lost at 85% damage.
in return we get 120% damage on corrupted. (great)
and 120% damage on Beasts (not great? majority of encounters that matter are not beasts)
dunno how to feel about it since a lot of open world pve is corrupted. or at least a big chunk of the main elite runs.
mean while Fire has 130% against angry earth (makes sense) frickin 60% on ancients why the giant gap. ice is 60% on corrupted and only 115% on lost. its not very consistent. similar story with void.
then there is life staff that has no weaknesses but has a buff against lost and corrupted.
People are being really naive, devs included. Running a spear with an INT gem is going to be such a huge dps loss compared to an optimized melee dps that isn’t hindered by weekly rotating elemental resists. Furthermore, as someone above mentioned, the ludicrous way that devs designed the process is that you have to upgrade specific pieces of gear, you can’t just swap in a 600 weapon when you’re doing high level mutations that require your avg gear score to be pushing 620.
The whole system was garbage to begin with, never should have touched gear score this early in the game’s life, never should have locked mutations behind orbs, never should have made mutation progression so exclusionary where you really need to run only with the same group members.
Add more mutations. Ice theme on Genesis and watch fire mages laugh maniacally. I’ve been working on suggestions and it seems they have seen some of them so hopefully we get some more diversity soon.
There have been enough rotations for people to have numerous 623/4 sets, not much of an excuse. I can tank m5, heal m6, have a dps for each dungeon (m9) with an extra 2 for genesis depending on element. Im chilling no matter the dungeon and element.
