Every single patch that gets publicly released corrupts my files… I have to go to steam to verify my files each time to get the game to work again…
Any idea why this is happening? How can I stop the patches from corrupting my game?

Hello @Raika Welcome back to the forums!
I am sorry to hear about the issues when the game updates, a common thing that could cause this kind of issue is a problem with the internet connection causing packet loss from the steam servers and loosing some data for the game.
Another issue but not as common could be a problem with an older Hard Drive that could be having some problems overwriting over older data.
If you feel neither of those 2 would match your issue, it might be better to escalate it with us so we can investigate further, here is our contact information:
Hope you have a great rest of your day!
I get the same on all updates and I have a very fast ssd it’s just they can’t code
I also have a very fast ssd and i have no issues
but ok
I am sorry to hear you are experiencing an issue similar to the one on this thread but I heavily suggest against replying on top of older posts in order to avoid having yours overlooked and also due to the fact several patches have been applied since this post was last replied to, possibly addressing the initial issue and even if yours seems similar, it may not be the same.
Please give the troubleshooting steps provided by @Fostus a try and do not hesitate contacting via the link on their previous post if the issues persist after that.
Good luck and see you in Aeternum! ![]()
I’ve never had a corrupted installation.
Whilst new world has a lot of problems, i would certainly look at your hdd or ssd if this happens everytime.
And having a fast ssd, doesn’t mean it’s not on it’s way out.
Also do a disc check regularly to check for errors
I don’t quite understand your post… what older post are you speaking about? This thread was created 6 days ago… while it’s no longer new… it’s not an “older post”. Who is trying to overlook things? I’m puzzled.
Anyhow there is nothing wrong with my hard drive… it’s certainly not an “old” one. I do not have any other issues with other games after it downloaded a new patch… just this one.
