Not sure what happened this past patch or 2, but EasyAntiCheat is crashing my computer randomly during game play. Sometimes I can go for a couple hours and sometimes it happens every 10ish minutes. So far I have tried:
Update graphic driver
Updated my Windows OS with latest updates
Open EasyAntiCheat executable and hit Repair after selecting New World
Verified the integrity of the game files
Reinstall New World

also, it’s a read error.
Since-
it could be that you have just dead drivers, have you recently updated something prior to error? swapped parts? Change certain settings for hardware? There is a lot of things that cause this error, unfortunately I haven’t encountered this issue, so testing isn’t a thing for me. What I would do is get a flash drive, all fresh drivers, reboot in safemode without internet (even unplug computer or disable network) then uninstall all of it, then install the fresh drivers.
No worries, and yeah “There is a lot of things that cause this error” is what I have found from my research also. I haven’t changed anything hardware related or made any abnormal updates outside of every day use. I started getting this error a few weeks ago and seems to be happening more often over time (was crashing really often today). I like the idea that you listed and may give that a shot. Talking with support on this right now
I hope everything gets resolved, if it doesn’t work ping me and I’ll come up with new ideas to try and narrow this down. Honestly prior to the windows 11 update, new world was running horribly for myself. After windows 11 update, for some reason the game runs flawless.

Verify integrity of game files

Repair, Reinstall, Update, or Verify EAC
To repair Easy Anti-Cheat:
Open the New World Application in your Steam library.
Open Settings, select Manage, and then Browse Local Files.
Open the EasyAntiCheat folder.
Launch the EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe file as administrator, and run it.
Select Repair.

Ahhhhh I forgot malware corruption, didn’t even think about that. Also, I forgot EAC got a repair tool, that too could have just a hiccup with the update. Very big brain.
Ahhh I can do a malware scan… the verify integrity, restarting computer, windows update, repair EAC I have already tried but I can give the malware scan and other EAC troubleshooting a shot. Thanks @godmod !
