am i the only one getting a steam loggin error?
I deleted the certificates folder, and the game opened, but after waiting in the queue i got a message saying:
“Connection registration did not arrive in time: DistributionManagerConnectedMSG”
For me I was getting this exact error while I was on the latest Steam beta. All I had to do to fix it was go into the Steam settings and opt out of the beta and let steam restart and such to roll back to the latest stable version and all was well. Don’t know if everyone in here is really on the steam beta though but for my case this did the trick.
Right click - properties - Local files - browse local files → EasyAntiCheat → Delete Certificate folder. THIS FIXED IT FOR ME PLEASE TRY IT I TRIED EVERYTHING ELSE
Yes, just got home from work after 14 hours and tried to log in and get this error…just add on to the fantastic day…
Teams gets on COVID lockdown
Accident on highway and stuck in traffic for 3 hours
Get home finally to enjoy new world and …yea, great…
Yup same issue for me!! Pretty naff system if it doesn’t work properly and there’s nobody there fixing their errors
Please don’t delete your anti-cheat certificates, steam updated so New world is thinking you own a pirated version of the game, thats why its not working. I do not say this as 100% true, its a mere guess, but the steam update is definitely what caused this issue, not the anti-cheat.
Edit: To explain it a bit further, steam had an update and it changed its dll enough to where new world doesn’t recognize it enough to launch because the codes don’t match. which is why I’m assuming its thinking you have a pirated copy. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT delete your certificates cause the game can and will catch you and probably ban you for altering your anti-cheat
Having the same error. Deleted the anticheat folder, got the EOC error when trying to login and then reinstalled the folder and back to the same error
i get the calander error on eu servers and the eac index error on us east servers
I’ll add my voice to the chorus. Steam auto-updated and now I’m getting this same error when I try to play New World.
I have the same issue!
Played two hours ago, came back to play and New World wouldn’t even start up, saying “You must be logged in to Steam” … well I was. So I restarted … then I get the “Cannot find STEAMAPPID.TXT” on the startup now.
The only thing I see different is the EASYANTICHEAT never used to prompt me on startup and now it’s asking if I should let it make changes. Which I say yes to.
Now I cannot even play the game.
im not in Beta for Steam and getting this error.
Yup have the same problem. Been waiting all day to play and can’t.
How did you reinstall the folder? Did you save a copy? I forgot to D:
To all you poor souls who actually believed deleting your certificates will accomplish something, it will not. In the unlikely hell of a miracle it somehow does happen, you will most likely get banned for altering your anti-cheat software
Only thing I can think of then besides being able to go back a steam version or waiting for a new worlds patch could be to go into the settings for steam, going to the “In-Game” section and unchecking the box that says “Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game”. Additionally a complete uninstall of new worlds and a reinstall while on the latest steam version may also fix the error but no one want to do that unless you got fiber or something.
Verifying the integrity of the game files through Steam should replace any deleted files.
Doesn’t fix it for me. I get another error message when trying to join a server.
Bump. Same issues here as well in Chicago.
From steam:
Delete content of “Certificates” folder in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\New World\EasyAntiCheat
AND delete “EasyAntiCheat.sys” file inside this folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat
Work for me.
