they should remove the armor/weapon boxes given at quests and random crates/urn/chests, it ruins the “sandbox” new world is advertising to their game. kekw.
Prices going down is not a sign of dying economy. It just means there is more supply than demand. The game is new, people are leveling and trying to get rid of stuff they gather/craft by selling them at the AH. In a few weeks, when most people will be at max level and we will have a picture of what is needed to progress your character at level 60, the prices will stabilize.
higher teir just means rarer, the economy is not normal yet, the leveling up process creates weird situations.
weirwood is more expensive on my server btw, so thats a server culture thing.
regardless, wait until more players are higher level, they’ll need lower mats for daily crafts. The economy will likely change then
actually, depends how you play. Personally I rarely get an upgrade, just because it has a better GS doesnt mean its better. It needs to have the right stats too. losing 30 primary Stat turns an upgrade into a downgrade.
People spam dungeons for now, but that tapers off once people don’t have free orbs.
endgame dungeon needs daily limited crafts, and open world item drops to make the orb, the whole economy will change drastically once more people are in the endgame phase
Yeah, I know.
I’ve just finished buying all of the faction gear for Templar level. I’m now level 29, and I’m already receiving gear upgrades on weapons and armour…
It’s kind of pointless grinding for the templar gear when its so easily replaced after a few extra hours of play.
One reason is the newness of the game, the second most glaring reason is that weapons and armor do not degrade and wear out. The drop rate may be a bit high in regards to NPC’s but the robust crafting is ruined by the pyramid effect.
Without new players constantly streaming in the market will stay saturated. Many gamers did not want the armor and weapons to wear out and thus the market is glutted with everything from ore to NPC drops.
With how robust the crafting is, the game should have had wear and breakage. crafting now is more of a personal matter, build for yourself and forget the market as it has tanked.
A game that uses every single resource/item for the whole game is non existent is should not even be thought as a problem.
Ur wrong. There is one. Its called Eve Online. it has 100% player driven economy. And it works well, and has the best crafting and market system possible in the game
Private and original servers of Ultima online, Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2, action survival games like Dayz…there are plenty of such games and that works well.
As someone who has a degree in economics there is loads of issues that will soon arise with the current system. I haven’t spoke about it and will provide my two cents eventually as I play with it more, hopefully it’ll be noticed. Current issues I see as of now…
- Most games have a way to permanently damage items. Overtime, those items will become useless and will require to be replaced, making the market far more stable. As of now, there is nothing stopping players from using the same gear, except getting better gear. No one really buys low tier gear for this reason.
- Market place is global. The cost of goods increase when you sell items at locations where they are scarce. Players could also buy items at markets and transport them to other markets for bigger profit, something not possible currently.
- Aside for maybe cooking, I’m not seeing much scarcity for resources. Two ways this can be done, either getting rid of certain resources at locations or increasing the yield for a particular one.
Caravans would be neat. Need to protect them etc
The main reason for such low prices are the respawn exploits. People permalooting rare equipment. If they would play normally without cheating they wouldn’t sell their hard earned 2 pieces of rare equipment for few gold

No, it is settlement based.
Really? I need to double check this. Yeah I need to do a bit more testing. The one thing that worries me the most is the lack of need to replace overused items and the lack of scarcity for resources at locations. There is also very little incentive for PvP when crafting/farming. Something like getting increase yield from resources when PvP is enabled, would be a great addition. Right now it’s a bunch of theft and there is no incentive to fight over loot.
That looks fucking tedious and retarded. lol. Better dont touch a thing to ruin it lol.
Why? I only repaired my axe once out of hundreds of hours of farming. I was actually going to replace it but only missed out on a few steel to create a new one. If you don’t want to craft, fine, go buy it from someone who will. If all you’re going to do is repair your gear, what is the point of the market place?
Good and eloquent comment I see
Perfect explanation.
agree. at least levelling up you can get the BoE stuff out. But there needs to be a way to get more stuff out of the economy. Like donate to a settlement or fort for XP or gold or something.
And once you have this gear, what exactly do you need the iron for then? You’ll PvP and PvE with the same gear indefinitely. When everyone and their mom is collecting iron and it’s no longer needed by the top players, it becomes worthless. Aside from that, servers aren’t the scale as they are for other MMORPGs which will create even bigger issues. The value of everything will just continue to plummet and it wont stop until the next big expansion or update.
people will always need gear. nature of the game. todays best gear is tomorrows worst. There are a whole lot more people than just the top 1%
