Economy is so out of balance it has no chance of coming back

Making the AH global wont change the underlining issues as that is not the root of the problem.

That is a temporary problem as there are more people now leveling crafting causing demand for those materials. When these players reach their desired level the demand will drop for low end materials.

If you could buy the cheapest items all from one location you and a couple of friends could watch the market house around the clock snatching up all of any particular item and after a couple of days stat posting at a highly inflated price. With markets scattered it is harder to control items making it harder to manipulate the market.

Thanks for responding AGS!

Stop writing those negative posts with no kind of economic research inside the game.

It 100% will restore after the next big update with new top tier mats

And with a very high chance it will be normalized on almost every server within the next few weeks (if not normalized already, as I saw it did on many servers)

You can probably assume that that graph looks very different now. I’d love to see a new updated one but I have a hard time seeing how I would trust it.

Well well…looks like auction house is getting linked. Wasn’t it magic? Wasn’t it something amazing would never do?! You clearly had no fucking clue what you were talking about, and I’m here to savor every second of it.

Yea and the economy and game will be ruined now. You will remove the feeling of transporting goods to different towns that need them and helping their economy. This is 100% a bad decision because you should be listing auctions in several towns to give us an awesome experience.

You aren’t savoring anything. Making the game worse for the sake of some weird convenience will only cause more people to quit. You are wrong on this matter and if Amazon does implement this they are also wrong and will lose players. This isn’t anything to be happy about as we want New World to be a better game.

If New World makes this game bad like WoW then well… people will just leave like they did that game and move onto other games. I guess most will be trying LostArk when it comes out and New World doesn’t have the bright future it once had if it keeps caving to bad ideas that ruined other MMOs.

In business we call it emotional stability, when a company quickly adjusts their core concepts under pressure they lack emotional stability. Unfortunately it’s not usually the artist who are caught lacking but the decision makers.

You’re on the nail though, these “fans” (I really question whether they are New World fans, or something fresh off the press “fans”), will simply leave when their main MMORPG drops a new xpac. Heck, some of the opinions are so downright atrocious for the longevity of the game that it almost makes you think some of these “fans” are out to sabotage the game. Though that’s more wackadoodle conspiracy theory on my part.

Either way, New World as we knew it is dead, got stabbed in the belly by the people meant to look after it and grow its core mechanics, yadda yadda New World is dead, long live Theme World. Or don’t, either way; I’ve gotten my worth prior to the dismantling by playing in the Alphas, Betas and Preview.

Gold and taxes are an issue esp with players that do not understand economics. I read a post yesterday about a town leader that spiked the tax through the roof. His entire company transferred to another server due to his ignorance and greed. Player driven economy can lead to many unfortunate and undesirable outcomes. This has been an ongoing issue in mmo genres for over 20 years with an auction house!

These threads are just pure hyperbole. “The economy is dead because I can’t make the money I want fast enough raaaaaaaaaaa”

The gist of all this is that there is an over saturation of desirable items flooding the market at super cheap prices. Or in some cases nothing at all on the markets. Players are dropping gear and items on the ground because posting it will lead to a lose from taxes.

if players are dropping gear, which salvages for gold on the floor, they simply don’t care about money

Yeah I didn’t know it was a thing until I saw some youtuber doing it.

Of course life quints are cheaper than motes.

They’re easily farmable and there’s no demand compared to the supply.

Welcome to capitalism?

If the game didn’t throw stupid amount of gear at you from drops/chests/portals then maybe they would salvage it. Right now it just takes too long when you have 100+ items in your inventory, just faster to drop them.

Also, they need to change the drop system and make it drop less items and more crafting mats/scraps, so that crafting is useful in this game.

100 gear items at T5 is 300 gold. So yeah if you don’t care about 300 gold, or spending 3 minutes salvaging it isn’t worthwhile, you are rich, and your decisions aren’t really representative of normal economic behavior. Not to mention repair parts… which are either money, or a resource.

Maybe you should spend less time spamming portals/chests and go farm something that sells on the market. Hell, I can spend less than 30 minutes farming rawhide and have way more than 300 gold.

And you are missing the point… They need to make it faster to salvage large amounts of gear if they are going to throw that much crap at us.

Now that I’m lvl 200 in a lot of trades (almost all of them) and have no more trades to ride, the best solution for me is to do nothing at all. I have no more places to sell items/revenues/products - I’m at 100 in HV and it’s really not selling fast. So nothing is moving.

The best thing for me is to do nothing, not to collect because I have no more places, not to crave anything because I will lose golds (I have no more places in HV anyway).

So the best solution for a HL craftsman (I can say that) is to do nothing! When I see a wolf I don’t kill it, I don’t harvest its skin, when I see an iron vein, I don’t pick it anymore and when I see a T5 tree, I pass it by =) It’s crazy!

Crafting/trading doesn’t fit at all in this game.

in the situation where you are discarding gear on the ground, you have already obtained it.

you are talking about almost the same amount of clicks per second to salvage it as to discard it. you make 3 gold in 1.5 seconds of work versus zero gold in 1.1 seconds of work.

farming rawhide doesnt compete.

its fine, but it means you don’t value getting 3 gold for .4 seconds of work, thats not a game design problem, you are simply so rich it doesnt matter. In which case destroy whatever you want, you are already too rich.

Yeah no game that ever drops finished items ever gets it right, monsters should be limited to dropping raw resources not refined products.
