I’ve been playing this game since the beta, i’ve been here when wars were unplayable, glitches, exploits, people dragging the game in window mode and not die, i saw people puting images on trade chat. But i’ve never been so upset as lately.
I don’t fully understand were AGS is going with this changes. First of all, lets talk about leaderboards and why i think that they are useless in the current state of the game.
Leaderboards forces the game to become a sweatfest, arenas, opr and dungeons will become a tryhard thing, people will try to play a casual 3v3 and get stomped by a duo with poket healers or abusing mechanics since we have no matchmaking what so ever.
Why we have leaderboards now? there is no reason to release such thing in the current state. In order to have a succesfull leaderboard you need to have 2 type of queue, casual or ranked, that way, you will have a chill sector were people go there and try stuff, new weapons, builds, and a ranked place where people play to glory and to be up in the leaderboard.
We don’t have a matchmaking system, cross server queue or anything that justify to implement leaderboards.
Dont get me wrong, leaderboards are a good thing to add to a game, but NOT YET, not in this order, priority should be = Balance combat , matchmaking + cross server , ranked + leaderboards. By doing leaderboards first the only thing you are making is that casual players will avoid arenas or opr or even high lvl dungeons in order to not deal with tryhards sweatlords.
Now, about economy. I was on a legacy server and moved to a fresh start once they came out. The things that killed the economy on my legacy server wasn’t solo chest runs, was bots. Bots made fishing a meaningless activity, bots made prices drop to non existant. But instead dealing with bots, AGS decided to remove coins from fishing chests. And now, nerfing solo chests runs.
Do you realize that brimstone is a hugemongus map and taking those chests off makes people to not going to certain places, because THERE IS NOTHING THERE ANYMORE? i mean, why the hell i’ll go to one extreme point of the map if there is the same amount of mobs than the usual, but just 1 chest instead 3 like it used to be?
Not only that, but from what i been playing as a farmer, sometimes you have luck and get some trophy mats, some days dont, but i got exitement and go and try my luck without depending a brainless zerg to do elite chests runs. I go there, fight mobs by my own and try to get something. But now that activity is harmfull to the economy?
I thought that BOTS were impactfull, or 2 or 3 companies hoarding loads of coin in taxes were hurtfull.
To be fair, people like us that do chest runs daily, most of them don’t do it for become lords of coins, we mostly do it to get our own trophy mats and actually play the game, farm, gather stuff and so on, otherwise.
Day 1 with this nerf and prices skyrocketed like i’ve never seen.

This is the economy fix you guys trying to implement? Could you try to at least play the game that you manage? it seems like you guys don’t even play your own game, you are giving us content but without backup (leaderboards without a proper leaderboard system, just for the sake of being there) and now you are forcing us to become a zombie left click spaming on elite chest runs because it’s not worth it to do solo chests anymore?
and lastly, why are you guys spending that much time and money to make a make as brimstone, super interesting and big, but taking out the only content that made me explore the map. Now we wont be going to lots of areas because there is nothing there. Feels like first light 2.
Edit: thanks @SpiceSea for remind me. You guys spoiled nerfs incoming for light armor “SOON tm” so lightly on a video, without more information, time, dates, nothing. That paralized the light armor market, people are avoiding the crafting of such armor, or are not buying, because you mentioned casually on a video nerf incoming. Can we please work on communication?
