EDEN is unplayable with all the Lag and Rubberbanding

Bumped for facts and logic. Homokrates speaks the truth!

Yea, it’s been a disaster for a week now and the whole server complaining about it in game. AGS admitting it was and issue in the dev video and AGS even made a thread to report lag etc on your server and admitted it was an issue. But still they respond in individual thread “verify your files” “give in game feedback” “make sure you are plugged into a landline”. Come on stop acting like it’s us when it’s you AGS. It’s February. Fix your game please.

I have gotten some rubberbanding and lag on EDEN past week or so. Far from unplayable, but yeah it is there.

Hello! Hope everyone is having a good one!

I understand that some players are reporting Lag and Rubberbanding in Eden, which is frustrating. I get you guys and we deeply apologize for that. I’d also like to mention that our Dev team is taking care of this as I write this communication and we wonder if these problems still continue, if so, let us know as soon as possible.

Thank you guys for helping us improve New World. :hugs:

I did and gave logs and they do nothing, seriously stop telling us to go to other outlets, youre basically telling us to stop playing your game. YOU know there is an issue increase communication and fix it.

Hello, @Homokrates It’s good to see you.

I first want to thank you to reporting back to us and for the feedback about increasing communication. Second, I know you are worried about this server situation, we are worried too so we’re monitoring server to avoid this situation in the future.

Third, I understand you already shared In-game logs already and thank you for that. Also, don’t forget you can check your ticket status for updates if you haven’t by contacting Customer Support. Additionally, if anyone else is having Lag and Rubberbanding in Eden, feel free to use ticket number P59472912, then contact costumer support at your convenience and they will add your situation to that ticket for further investigation.

Information we may ask once you reach out support would be:

- Steam ID:
- Character Name:
- In-Game World:
- Forum link:
- Have DXdiag and in-game logs handy.

Instructions for generating a DXdiag: Open and run DxDiag.exe

Instructions for finding the in-game logs:

1. Exit New World.
2. Click on Start or press the Windows Key + R.
3. Type %localappdata%\AGS\New World\LogBackups and press Enter.
4. Open the most recent file and Zip your Logs.

We really appreciate you guys are being patient with us and thank you for your support.

Its all servers looks like, but all you will ever get from AGS/Amazon is them telling you its your fault. Valhalla is pretty much unplayable at times.

Hello, @Erinyes Happy to see you!

I’d like to explain myself a little bit of why we ask for In-game logs in most cases. They are required to proceed to our investigation in most cases as those help us identify root of cause, analyze situation and then work on an implementation of a fix etc, so with that in mind, when we ask for in-game logs, it’s because we really need them. I hope you can understand, every feedback matters to us.

(I like that meme btw lol)

We really appreciate your time to post and see you in aeternum! :hugs:

Cool I’m done playing this game then. You’ve robbed me of orbs, caused extreme times to do the most basic things during peak hours and constantly refuse to have developers in here admitting their faults. Bring back the developer responses.

Hello Adventurer,

Hope you are doing well.

The best way to help you would be contacting support through chat here: New World - Support | Amazon Games 1

That way we can receive the pertinent information to help you with this.

Be sure to have your game logs ready in case they ask for them:

Provide the latest 3 logs from: Users\AppData\Local\AGS\New World\LogBackups

DxDiag report https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/open-and-run-dxdiag-exe-dad7792c-2ad5-f6cd-5a37-bf92228dfd85:

Go to Windows Start search bar and type dxdiag.
Click on dxdiag.exe.
When green progress bar goes away, select Save All Information and save the file to their desktop.
I hope this helps.

Stay safe and take care!

See you in soon in Aeternum!

Wow it’s like you don’t even talk to your colleagues that posted even went down so you can add more logging to find the problem. Stop telling us that it’s our end when your own ppl have finally implemented logging.

Unplayable again today and the server is dead, wtf is going on!? Was in Skysong Temple and fighting in slow motion at times, and hopping around the map at others. I have a topaz postion on and havent been getting as many drops as i normally do in this area either, something on the server is not responding to proper fight and drop requests.

Hello, @Homokrates Hope you’re having a good one!

I understand some players are having issues in Eden server due to instability and reporting concerns for server population. I made sure to pass this concerns to the proper team to be aware of and take necessary actions. Also, I wanted to let you know guys that, our team’s always working hard and giving their best to bring solutions as fast as they can and always worried about every single player’s feedback, concern etc. I hope everyone can understand.

Don’t forget to check out our Official News Category to be on top everything New world.

I hope this helps! See you in Aeternum!

Yo,. feel ur pain, bunch of us have been having exactly this for almost 2 months now. Still no response on it, countless threads. Mind checking to see if you are being affected by same issue we are:-

During high latency / lag spike, leave game open and go into Task Manager ->Performance → Resource Monitor. Under Network, for any NewWorld.exe on list do you see any connections to an Amazon server outside of the region that you play on, or if there is connection to a “AWS Global Accelerator”, or any unnamed connections to IPs in the 52.* range.

If yes to any of the above, then this is pretty much what is causing all the lag, rubberbanding, desynch, u name it. NewWorld is opening up these dodgy AF additional connections from time to time, annd for no particular reason or at random times. During that they are flooded with data mostly coming in, but also going out.

these “ghost” / dodgy connections seem to have packet priority, So you pretty much have to wait until its done what its doing, of which is happening at snails pace due to it being in completely seperate region/continent - sometimes even your entire connection to game is rerouted through this outside region. It is just rather absurd that not only is it happening in the first place, but noone seems to want to acknowledge it - I once got a MOD to slip up almost, he wanted to share some info with me about it, but that particular info was forbidden to be disseminated / shared outside the company due to some policy or the other.

Would appreciate any feedback or confirmation whether or not u have these ghost connections. Here is an example: (i play on EU)

Those are likely analytics programs for capturing marketing data and telemetry. Def somewhere New World should optimize

Do u have those ghost connections ?

@loomy69 i’m surprised you are still playing and trying to convince any mod to actually do something after more than 2 months of complete ignoring us.

@Homokrates those connections are not any analytics. EC2 is the database and s3 is a file server where AGS apparently do all the verification and animation stuff like explained here. The Global Accelerator checks the best connection from you to the server. But this one is f***. I 100% sure it just checks the best connection from you to any AWS server and completely ignores which server you actually selected and are playing on. So why do those other connections pop up? Just because any internet connection is unstable in a certain manner and as soon AWS detects you have a better connection to another AWS server even on a completely different continent than i just connect to this one. Thats why a lot of people are suffering from as they are not directly in US, Europe or really close to one of those AWS servers. I for example am playing in SA-Peru and chose a SA server which is located in Brasil. Before the AWS servercrash early december, all was fine. Since then i get a way better connection to US-East servers than to the closer Brasil server because in that case all my data stays in US, but when connected to SA-server my data first goes to the US and then later to SA causing an more than 100ms latency increase…

And that btw like loomy mentioned is mentioned in quite a lot of posts here in the forum and was sent directly to AGS support as well but in the end just ignored.

BTW, this would explain your problem of eden as well. As your server is busy, saturated with lag, AWS Global Accelerator just gets another connection up to somewhere else causing even more lag as your data now is routed somewhere else first and than back to where it should be
