"Either remove ... -or- permanently ban them"

Users have been permanently banned for the last one and I imagine if people did it as severely, they will be permanently banned again. I personally don’t think outright banning every single person who did it is a great idea, but those who abused it on a large scale should obviously be banned.

Bro you needed to stack more than 3 of the same major trophies no one would do that unless it was to exploit.

And again, if players actually did exploit it to create large amounts of gear, I do think they should be banned.

Gotta ban 'em all!!

Did I ever say they bought major trophies or did the glitch? No! I was just implying the behavior with trophies is not exactly the easiest thing to figure out. Especially when the game gave you no feedback on the issue.

(and these aren’t “new” players. They’ve been playing for almost 8 months and weren’t acutely aware of the trophy mechanics)

I just blocked you I’m not gonna chit chat with a troll.

I’m going to stop replying to you now. This isn’t very constructive. Have a good day.

This definitely hits the economy as we speak for the players engaging in these activities. I saw people selling 3 perk BIS or close to BIS items for 6 gold coins on orofena today. I even managed to snag one of them. I assume these had to have come from the craft exploit

umm

the exploit required a player to have a trade skill (such as armoring) at 200-

AND have ~ 200k gold on top of that for the 3 major trophies-

AND have an extra 60k lying around to buy the mid trophies-

AND have a understanding of the crafting bonuses to use the right materials / food / town buffs etc-

AND have enough communication or game experience to know what BIS is for whatever they are making…

No one fitting this criteria did it on accident. Not a single person in the history of new world legit did the grind for 3 major trophies to then grind out the lower tiers again on accident.

These were resourced people who knew the game, and knew they were exploiting it.

IF they did it to report the bug and isolate the items, fine. But, if they didn’t report it with the item identification and location, did it more than once, put an item on the tp, traded an item, did a dungeon with an item, etc… then they knew what they were doing.

Imagine any game, be it chess / football / futbol / or anything else, surviving if the players KNEW the other team has been allowed to cheat in the past, and ARE STILL being allowed to cheat in the present. This is how you lose the players AND the fans.

There are players that crafted with the bug but also players who received this items bis doing trade in ah for 1 gold. I say this, because i think u should track all the crafted items and remove them no only ban the players who crafted.

I’ve already seen a screenshot of a person who admits to exploiting this. (At least claims to have.) They were punished with a 7 hour ban.

So much for AGS responding swiftly and decisively.

Funny how so many of you overlook the Bugs forum. Post the exploit, post the steps to repeat the exploit, post it in a public forum so everyone who doesn’t know about it can try it out.

kinda makes it hard to justify fresh start servers if they cant stop the exploits.

Accounts involved will receive the outcome of the severity of the TOS broken.

I agree with you about all items being deleted. No question at all in my mind. I think the disciplinary penalty should be on a case-by-case basis, to some extent, if possible. For example, I think there’s a big difference between a player with no “disciplinary history” (in the game) who exploited this for say, 5 crafts, got guilty/uneasy/uncomfortable, and stopped vs. someone with a prior “disciplinary history” who did this for like, 400 crafts. But for the most part, I think most of the people that did this should probably get permabanned.

The main challenge is probably not so much how to deal with those who abused it primarily, but e.g. how to deal with someone who got given an end product, bought it, whatever.

As per usual, stuff spreads. The intent may not always be malicious in those who did not directly exploit themselves.

Thank you for responding. I know you probably feel as we do, and hope as we hope, that the higherups make the right decision here.

Telling who did this, filed a bug report, and isolated the item to give you internal data from those that made and used/sold/gifted items should be trivial.

I appreciate your attention and your efforts. Let’s all hope those with the decision power do what obviously should be done.

Again thanks for being on the front line taking the slings and arrows for those behind you.
