Fire gen, Void Laz, Ice Barnacles & Black Powder all mean that mages are left with no weapon that is strong against their respective enemy type. Combine this with phalanx, which completely blocks all projectiles, and you’re pretty much forced to change builds entirely if you want to run m10’s.
Meanwhile melee can be super effective against every single dungeon and mutation without changing their build. There is no strike resistant mutation, no slash resistant mutation, no thrust resistant mutation. Simply run GA/hatchet for Angry Earth, warhammer for Ancients and Lost, Spear or hatchet for corrupted, and greataxe for the gravwell in every dungeon. Rerolling dex is better for corrupted, but there’s no thrust resistant dungeon so you can run the same setup no matter what mutation it is for any of the 3 corrupted dungeons.
Elemental mutations should not make mobs resistant to that element.
Yeah it sucks at the very least we’d have a mage weapon of every element so could at least be neutral if for example using a fire staff in tempest and a void gauntlet but both of those have a mutation but at least there is a 50% for it not to be one of those
Mages slack with the damage in general. I find gen it’s not as bad with VG ig and pylon burst but FS seems very weak for everything even if there’s no counter element. Melee VG works and buffs people but that’s it. Element resistances aren’t in the way as much as how mage weapons work
Yep I agree here. I play some int builds and dex. Don’t have a single str so planing on making one set for the new dungeon. Got full healing sets for them all so the last build I’m missing it’s str
