Welcome to online gaming! If you weren’t aware, pretty much every game loses players over time. It’s a natural phenomenon that happens when people play a game enough, get through the content, then move onto other games.
Oh, and New World has too many servers (50+). They should be merging more often.
Most of the top 10 games on steam charts are like 10 years old. Games that do pvp right have remarkable longevity. Losing 10s of thousands of players over the course of a few weeks is not normal or healthy. Especially for one that relies on server population to be playable, and even more so when devs move at a snails pace with merges.
Games that do things right in general have remarkable longevity. New World has way more issues even outside of the PvP. AGS needs to face this fact and get the game together before it really RIPs.
I don’t blame anyone for leaving, especially people who value their time.
I’m only logging in to see if anything has changed with my lengthy list of bah-ters, have 92 of them on my list, and found 5 more in the 10 minutes I was online. Half of those are online 24/7, nothing gets done to remove them. Report each one dozens of times over days and weeks, crickets.
Go look in Windsward on Lilith US-East server, you’ll see them all.
Game is full of illegitimate players, and player count numbers would be really dismal if all the illegitimates were gone. But they would fill back up with honest players giving the game another shot knowing action is being taken. Action is very few and far between.
