Enchanted only increasing damage by ~5% and is impacted by gemming

  • Describe the issue you are experiencing: Enchanted perk not providing full value. Seems to be stuck at 5%. Socketing a weapon (with a topaz at least) also seems to impact how much damage the perk provides though still doesn’t cause it to get even halfway from 5% to the stated bonus.

  • What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Take two weapons with the same base damage and of the same type, with stats that aren’t relevant to their damage (like muskets with constitution and focus) but with one having the Enchanted perk, and compare their damage hitting the same mob. Throw gems into those weapons and repeat the test to see how that impacts it. My first test showed a 5% damage increase when ungemmed and a 5.9% net damage increase when gemmed (surprisingly the physical portion of the resulting post-gemmed damage had a 6.3% increase on its own and the lightning portion saw a 6.1% increase, so it wasn’t the elemental portion picking up the slack), with the Enchanted perk claiming to be 7.7% on the weapon used. Later on I bought a high level rapier with 9% Enchanted and found similar results with what appears to be a ~5-6% damage increase only.
