So i understand clearly, a light armor user should commit to the fight… toe to toe…against medium/heavy users. Is that correct?
commit… probably not. but between the 3 armor types it should be equal footing if skill is relatively equal.
with how important dodge iframes are heavies will just get chipped away over time (this is mostly a 1v1 dueling thing but that concept is still there)
ether a nerf to dodge rolls (i understand the hate of looking at all the tumble weeds and how much it screws with some abilities like spear vault kicks and sweeps not registering properly because some one somewhere decided to dodge roll)
or a buff to heavy armor (id assume less stamina drain on blocking as that is the alternative to dodging)
before when stamina cost were higher you had to use an escape, but that being said light has always been good in alpha, was nerfed for launch and now is back to being good,
I think the distance and i frame either or should be nerfed and nimble/hearty and other stamina perks should just be removed
I think light should still have the range but the i frame is just super long right now.
Stamina regen is through the roof, light armor legit gives 50-100 meter boosts with high movement classes like fire staff/rapier as well as ga/hatchet or ga/s&B.
That being said light armor is deleted by muskets
idk, maybe a cost to heavy attacks in stamina or light attacks with stamina like a souls like would make it bettee?
Then maybe ranged might be too strong. But I think would do good for the game and slow the pace down a touch. Maybe only for heavy attacks
Or do none of these changes and go for the real culprit of nimble/hearty and other stamina perks.
If melee had a lot more stamina mgmt. they would quickly get out kited by mages and ranged but it really is ridiculous trying to catch light armor bruiser ga/wh as well as light armor mage or rapier/bow
ga/hatchet. It’s pretty nuts what you need to do to keep up

Yes. I’ll explain my thinking.
Light amor class fantasy is a nimble hard hitting fighter. Sure they should dodge, perhaps have more dodge ability than heavy but they should still have to consider when and why to dodge. This is where I consider skill takes effect, well time dodge followed up by hard hitting strikes and or CC’s.
As apposed to what we have now, dodge essentially forever untill rooted. If dodges were limited we have the side effect of everyone not needing a root spam to counter dodge spam.
As for ranged positioning prior to engagement is key and getting caught by mele is and should be punishing, but again skill with a side weapon can make quick work of poorly played mele.
High risk high reward, this is how I would prefer combat played out.
Rolling is only way ranged light armor build do not die to mele (also rapier). If you take away this mechanic then light armor is dead.
I think way it is now is ± ok. Its hard to catch light armor user but if you do catch him he is dead in like 7/10 situations (depends what cc and how much dmg you can do).
Most ppl crying about light armor dodge are med/heavy mele users. Seriously. If you think it is so good - please put light armor so you can make same amout of doged and close the distance with like 1 skill.
They are balancing the game based on what is balanced and fun for PVP, not what your fantasy is. I really don’t understand why people come to the forums and pitch their sweeping balance changes to things that make no sense.
You want light armor to go toe to toe and not escape vs heavy armor? That is just ridiculous. Medium armor beats light in duels, so your comment is just false.
I would bet all the gold I have in the game you don’t play light. You chose to play a heavy tanky build and can’t catch people who chose to go squishier more mobile builds, so you come to the forums to cry for it to be changed. You clearly think light armor players just spam dodge and don’t have to time or think about when they use it. This tells me you really don’t understand the game, what light armor players are even doing, or where the skill cap is at currently. Heavy has a much lower skill cap than light in my opinion.
Your changes and all others I see just make light armor useless again and will get them farmed by muskets.
Light armor should be farmed by musket, its the only weapon powerful enough with enough range to have a chance. A bulket shout tear a light user apart.
I play medium bow. I hate trying to chase these rolly polly LA players. I get them to like one or two hits and they just roll away drink potion and keep rolling. Cant catch them and cant hit them. If I do hit they are iFrame or the arrow goes through them desync.
I hate it so much that I am going to put a LA build together for myself. Then at least I can keep up. Maybe even join the complaints that “I got one shot by x”

nothing needs to be buffed or nerfed (on op’s point), but players really need to l2p the objectives or not complain if they die or someone runs away due to build differences.
Light armor should be for ranged to alliw them to stay ranged. If you get in melee in light you should be dying.
light does die in melee, pretty fast actually.
lots of great axe ig players run light and dip around points and melee balls all the time.
they engage when they can do it.
if they get caught in CC they tend to melt.
thats about it.
If they did people wouldnt be whining about the dodge roll. I play rapier bow occassionally its very easy to jump in shred someone with rapier roll out and kit them. Its the into melee roll to saftey people have a problem with. 20% damage bonus then amazing escape. Yes please.

If youre caught on a CC on light set youre dead. Plain and simple. No healer can save you.

Medium has almost the double of defense light gear has with slightly less damage! Also, the SAME number of iframes on dodges. The only difference is that light now can be more
Mobile since it doesn’t have any stop after dodge.
Which made sense, you can move faster if you’re carrying less weight.
ITS FAIR and this small difference only made a lot of people on OPR to respec to light.
a fire mage in light will do more damage from range than a single dodge in burst dodge out from a melee light
whats really happening is you and your team are wanking on a heavy ga/wh isntead of focusing the light - no one is using CC like shower to block them in, you have all wasted your GW so you cant keep the light melee in longer
rapier bow is just not good, so i dont know what you expect. the objective is to capture points not 1v1

People complaining doesn’t mean they are correct, that is a fallacy. They are complaining because in most cases they can’t kill these players and don’t like the way it makes them feel. They get out played by a more skilled light player, don’t even get a hit in, and he runs away and they come to the forums to get it changed.
I fully agree. The pvp objectives need to be focused on alot more in opr. Fighting on roads and chasing people is just bad strategy.
If your playing it right and focusi g the other clothies you are. You aint doing crap to heavies but you can descimate another clth user who is distracted. Play it more rogue like large scale pvp as you said isnt 1v1
