A poll would certainly be nice. I know of a few other MMOs that do this sort of thing.
The problem with introducing new features in a PTR with a planned release is that any significant changes cannot be made at that point. Small bug fixes sure, but that’s it. There’s no time for the feedback and QA process.
Right i get that they are using the PTR not for feed back but for bug testing only. its still utterly disappointing to see any feed back not warranting even a single comment back.
it doesn’t require a 1h long video.
videos makes rebuttals and a conversation impossible.
Well, fixing bugs, bots and balance in February is a mistake. Your community is telling you they want fixes asap not when you get around to it. By the time you wake up to the fact your game is dying because you ignored the player base their will be no population left in the game.
Well, as players we can only provide feedback on what we see/feel. It is their job to take that and do with it what they want.
I think they have the business side of this on lock. And they have a healthy(debatable) stream of feedback coming in, which is what any design team needs to be able to pivot and make the necessary decisions.
You can disagree and suggest what they do as a business but I will stay on the side of giving feedback based on how I feel. It is their job to take the feedback and do with it what they will.
They are a team of professional game developers and designers. They see things with a 360 view and are lucky to have a community so passionate about the game.
No idea why you think you need/can advise them on this sort of thing haha.
Just here to add they need to fix the map. We’ve been living with fake invasions plaguing the map for months, and now corruption portals just don’t appear on the map anymore. wtb working map pls
I didn’t mean to suggest what they should or should not do, maybe I didn’t phrase it right. I was just being realistic and “fair”, the community is pretty toxic (not something exclusive to NW and electronic games btw), the current trend is people behaving like online spoiled brats: “I want what I want and I want it now”… not inviting for publishing a roadmap that will get crushed no matter what’s the content and crushed again over and over to any tiny deviation.
Spending “a lot of time” on a decision doesn’t make it a good decision
As you’ve pointed out, the players are pretty vocal about this change they don’t like. Many have even offered similar ideas on ways to repurpose current plans.
And they’re right. There’s no need for a GS increase. Let’s take this opportunity to break away from the old habit of applying band-aids to bad ideas and preemptively change things so that it becomes a good idea from the start!
