Every Single System in NW is Unrewarding, Boring and Marketed to Non-Existent Players

Take Gypsum Casts for example:

Has anyone here ever opened a Gypsum cast and gotten good gear out of it? It’s always a crappy item that just gets salvage. Why even include gear in the Gypsum Cast boxes if the gear is just throwaway? Why not give us a 590-600 gear roll for each 625 Cast we open?

Take OPR crates for example:

I have opened over 1,000 OPR crates and I do not use a single piece of OPR crate gear. Why even have this system in place if the gear is not useable?

The same goes for War Crates
The same goes for Invasion Crates
The same goes for Arena Crates
The same goes for Portal Crates

Take Faction Store for example:

Sure the faction vendor was good for the first few weeks of leveling up… but now its pretty much useless.

Look at the overall gear that drops for doing PVE content:

Why are there so many items that are just pure useless? Like getting a named Bow with focus and int on it. Just more junk to salvage.

The new PVP salt system looks to be very unrewarding in terms of gear. Another upcoming system to collect junk to salvage/overlook/throwaway.

Its clearly obvious that the NW team continues to cater to virtually non-existent lvl 1 through 59 players when the majority of the player base is lvl 60 and starved for end game (real game) content.

I’ve been saying it for four months or more now… the developers have it stuck in their head that the way to retain players is super long grinds that never allow you to reach the carrot.

They are down to 23k concurrent players and still don’t want people to reach the carrot. Even old school grind games let you get the carrot.

As I’ve said all along there is too much grind in everything with no reward. Just create a fun game and people will play. Not everything has to be a verticals grind. Not everything needs to be rng and unobtainable. Even getting something good doesn’t feel rewarding because the effort was too great to get there. Crafting is the worst offense in this.

Yeah. That is a pretty common problem. My main thought when I finally get a piece of gear is not excitement or satisfaction of obtaining it. It’s “thank god I don’t have to do this anymore.”

everything in this game is made for full loot open world pvp.
everything.
economy, weapons, pvp.
its not made for bis gearing.
but bunch of cry babys made it so that we didnt even get to try that game.
instead we got game that has no content but makes it up with bugs and imbalances.
we got what we deserve .
not more not less.

At the very minimum items from OPR crates should always have Resilience.

You make a good point. I never thought about it that way.

But yea, the game as it stands would make a lot more sense if could lose gear on death.

Whoever thought an itemization system with this amount of RNG (Quality, perks, stats, gear score, etc) is appealing must’ve spent a lot of time working on mobile games, or something alike.

Yeah, and the game is marketed as a “Classless” system. Let’s lowkey enforce a classed system with 1 in 6 chance, then 1.49% chance this and another 1.49% chance of that perk roll.

Freedom + Resil + Wep perk? Price of the item is worth more than your entire existence on the game thus far.

Agreed, out of like 1000 gypsum casts, i’ve only gotten 1 legendary and it was terrible and salvaged seconds later. I mostly get greens and blues, and then some purples. All of them salvaged seconds later.

i’ve done maybe over 600 opr crates and I’ve gotten maybe 1 or 2 useful items. The perks are better now but its usually like a wrong attribute or something.

They need to increase the amount of umbrals given in OPR, 50-100 is pathetic. You have to have good gear and high gs in the first place to even do well. There should be higher rewards for finishing like top 10, I usually get top 5. Top 5 should give 20x umbral amounts currently, and 5-10 should give 10x the amt of umbrals. SIMPLE FIX for umbrals in opr.

I have not looked at the pvp salt system, but you understand the problems so I will defer to you on that.

na i disagree on this one, it should never have always one perk. Do you know understand how metas work? There could be new perks created in the future that are better or more useful than having resilience.

Blame the developers for the lack of vision, not players whining on forums.

After months of gameplay I remember only 1 item that I rolled from a cast being somewhat good and luckily in touch with build I was using at the time. I remember because I salvaged it pretty much two days after. Something better came along that (surprise) was not a cast drop.

They should have the first crate of OPR gaurantee a random legendary or something. I’ve gotten maybe 2 legendaries total out of countless chests.

We all know 2 perk gear is pretty unusable and very subpar. 3 useful perks is the only thing to get excited about.

Even if it’s resil refreshing and something like vigor. Vigor isn’t freedom, but it’s still alright, but nobody gets excited for that. Let alone resil and refreshing alone. Voidbent is essentially better.

Shirking and resil is alright, but we also need weapon perks.

I literally said this after finally getting Timekeeper’s Hand from Leviathan after a solid month of farming multiple hours a day. “At least now I don’t have to ever come back here again”.

OPR gear should only have one stat line. There are too many dead split stat attributes that can roll. Most egregious offenders are the split stat Focus suffixes.

Examples:

STR primary stat + FOC secondary stat [of the Monk suffix]
DEX primary stat + FOC secondary stat [of the Duelist suffix]
INT primary stat + FOC secondary stat [of the Mage suffix]

FOC primary stat + STR secondary stat [of the Zealot suffix]
FOC primary stat + DEX secondary stat [of the Artificer suffix]
FOC primary stat + INT secondary stat [of the Priest suffix]

People did get to try that game, actually, and they almost universally hated it, just like pretty much everyone ends up hating full-loot PvP games. It’s an unbelievably niche genre that sounds fun in theory, but is just frustrating in practice.

Does anyone remember how much noise was generated for Mortal Online 2? How it was God’s gift to the full-loot PvP sandbox genre? It peaked at under 10k concurrent players, and barely scrapes together 1k now. It’s just a shit genre that nobody likes. Empirically.

Not including farming gear, I have about 6 sets of armor I use. A mutation set for each dungeon type, and a heavy strength pvp set, a medium strength pvp set, and a light int pvp set. I have my axe, hammer, hatchet, spear, fire staff, and ice gauntlet that I honestly think are exactly what I want and not looking for anything else right now. So in all, it’s about 60 pieces of gear and 6 weapons. When you consider the thousands pieces of gear you get from chests, but only need to 60 pieces, of course the vast majority of them are going to be junk compared to what you have.

Totally agree with everything everyone has said.

The loot system in this game is whack. Even my love for this game is beginning to dwindle.

Weapons, crafting, loot system and combat is all based on a different game that it used to be. They are in the middle of massively overhauling the entire game. I think they can do it successfully.

We just gotta keep bitching and complaining and this game will be good.:rofl:

I’ve opened a lot myself…and gotten some nice stuff out of it. Anything absolutely BIS? Naw…did get an amazing 600 Blunderbus out of it though. Not #1 bis…but i believe top 5.

Haven’t gotten a useful 600 though.

With the purples…you can gear yourself up with a decent starter set.

Assuming you already have 600 expertise in everything…which is a grind and a half…
