Totally agree with everything everyone has said.
The loot system in this game is whack. Even my love for this game is beginning to dwindle.
Weapons, crafting, loot system and combat is all based on a different game that it used to be. They are in the middle of massively overhauling the entire game. I think they can do it successfully.
We just gotta keep bitching and complaining and this game will be good. 
I’ve opened a lot myself…and gotten some nice stuff out of it. Anything absolutely BIS? Naw…did get an amazing 600 Blunderbus out of it though. Not #1 bis…but i believe top 5.
Haven’t gotten a useful 600 though.
With the purples…you can gear yourself up with a decent starter set.
Assuming you already have 600 expertise in everything…which is a grind and a half…

and thats just it. by the time you are 600, you already have better gear than anything crates or casts will give you.
You can buy good 2 perk gear on the TP for less than 5k thats better than anything you will ever get from crates or casts.

This game lost 99% of the player base because all the systems you made are garbage.

This whole game is fully designed for full loot pvp content. Where u dont wear gucci gear, thats why we have what we have, I dont know how they could change it really xd. But if they left this idea after 2nd alpha why they have not changed it ? Dunno ask Devs. Same story like in Albion mostly you wear what u looted. Why players are scared idea of losing something forever which I dont understand where mostly u dont even buy it stop being carebears.

I played almost for 2k hours and I still have 4 Heavy Voidbent pieces as my main armor. That say all about the RNG system. I would love something to be hard or grind but to have a clear reward. Like for example put some PVP armor sets 590+ in faction store and let me grind as crazy faction tokens to get it.
Albion has really good system and dont tell me u lose 10 hours if u die, if on most cases u wear in Albion 1kk or less worth eq … same would be here. If this game is made for p2w? Doubt I just dont see it and I have never saw in New World is total 0 p2w u have skins, furniture and thats all … ohh and u can buy dye for IS. Full Loot in Albion works fantastic ofc they are people who complain on it cuz they cant wear they 8.3 masterpieces in black zones without risk of lose it.

New player here, And am gonna say you have not leveled up a toon since launch. The gear sold in the faction store are kind of trash, let me break it down
AT level 15 you can buy your first item, But you look and the next level item is 20, so why waste tokens for 5 levels right? ok so you wait for level 20…but you cant do the faction quest to unlock that level 20 gear till you are level 25…OK, at 25 I do the faction quest, and boom rush to buy a weapon, and every single piece is worse then what I already have, and this should last me till 32?
My favourite is the crafting. I easily spent about 1 mill on it to make it to 200 and then craft loads of muskets/BBs and I salvaged 99% of them. Sold a few for a few hundreds or thousands not even the same amount as the matt price it needed.
I completely gave up on crafting, Im just selling my matts and done with it, not worth it. I crafted atleast 100 musket and not received a single good 3 perk musket, not saying BIS, just 3 usable perk. Not a single one.

They’ll just ignore all of this, of course, and maybe add some more random perks to the game so our rng odds to get a better piece of gear sinks down further into the abyss.
This game has a lot of potential, seriously. It’s just a shame it is being led by a group of blind people.
We do complain a lot, we sure do, but we do this because we care about the game and want it to be better. These aren’t just some random complaints, you hear about this kind of stuff all day long.
If you guys take too long to make some changes, people will just stop caring about the game and quit.

As a non-existent player, I appreciate New World’s attention to my needs.
I have probably 5000lbs of gear that I refuse to sort or utilize. It’s a garbage grind just to enjoy the junk gear you’ve worked so hard to waste!
This is the number one reason the game is struggling to keep players, imo. None of the “normal” gameplay loops AGS intended for players to use to develop their character are rewarding enough to do after you get to a certain point. Why would I run OPR, m10s, box runs, boss farms, ect for scraps that are constantly getting devalued by bots and gold farmers? Activities in the game are simply not worth the time it takes to do them.
Gear progression past 2 perks items needs to be more streamlined and not so dependent on the in-game economy, or the rarity of good gear needs to come down significantly. Items are too expensive and therefore not accessible to anyone who doesn’t play the game like it’s their job or buy gold with irl money.
AGS seems to be scared of making activities too rewarding fearing that players will stop playing their game after progressing too quickly, but activities are so unrewarding that players aren’t bothering to do them and just log out.

2 days ago I helped some friends, did 2x M8 and 1x M9. Got 4 Resilient armor drops legendary, 1 or 2 are quite good even. But BOP and in general yea, its super tough to get “good” drops.
And dont get me started with crafting which is a time and money sink…
From OPR I finally got this piece, but I agree its rare there drop some rly rly good ones - it happens tho (Ive seen a few such BIS OPR drops):
after 170 opr wins i have only gotten a single legendary item from an opr cache and it was instantly deleted. You are very lucky to have gotten that piece lol
My first 2 or 3 legos also were trash.
And except some purple pieces with a skill perk + Resilient/Refreshing (and ofc the fitting attributes) or something you dont get anything rly from the chests.
Jewelry and weapons were full trash so far. 2 friends of mine got a similar drop, like at least lego and 3 perker material. But that was armor as well
