That’s true, but that doesn’t sound like an efficient economy.
I agree. But it’s the only way I can see this even remotely working. Driving up the gear/level caps will create a continuous demand for resources. I guess the idea being; highlevels will focus on getting their new gear together - low levels can make a buck by farming T1s and T2s.
Shrug.
Nah, let people keep undercutting everything, I’m saving my money till endgame BiS stuff is available for 10 cents.
I don’t understand peoples problems gold.
Example: If you have a spear of the soldier and it has +20 Dexterity, so you think ooh! Might be able to sell this, so you go to the market and see a bunch of spears of the soldier all on the market for 4-5g check the stats. Chances are all those spears are trash and it’s yours that will sell for 100g+
As for crafting items, learn the market. I made thousands making lumber and charcoal yet gold is worthless. I have a shed that is just full of gold bars, it’s got more than the federal reserve. I have no doubt that in a few weeks they will be worth much more. Which is why I dumped them in an unused shed rather than sell them for pennies.
Most of my money has come from weapons/armour, Lumber, Charcoal, bags, vegetables, and crafting food.
I wound be so interested to hear how to make money from crafting weapons/armor.
I mean it’s an IRL tactic that works in-game, and with no in-game vendors to sell too, people gotta try and make money anyway they can, such is life, such is life in Aeternum
Stop overpricing your junk.
The trading post items needs a minimum price of at least 1-3g. This will help keep the gold flowing and the economy thriving.
Minimum 1g-3g bids 2021 ! no more 1c ore or anything! this will hep with repairs and daily things and make things seem more meaningful.
Or it will destroy everything. Lets find out!
I undercut by great margins as long as I’m making a profit. There is nothing worse than losing out on gold because your items didn’t sold and you still had to pay the listing fee.
Yeah. Often Charcoal is more expensive then 2x Green Wood! People are lazy, just throw stuff at them and take their money
If prices are to low you buy them and sell them at the right price.
if you can’t really do that it means the prices are correct for the demand.
I earned my undercutters badge 13 years ago using the Galactic Auction house. Been undercutting ever since.
The funniest part of people undercutting are those who are listing things on the market at a price in which they make 0 profit or worse, lose money. Undercutting is good. Being stupid about it is just laughable.
We all get it as that’s going to happen in any game with a market… The solution is to buy the undercut items and resell them .
It is strange, you even get a message informing you that you will lose money. Yet I see items for less than the cost of putting them up for sale all the time. Weapons and armour, so it’s not a case of multiple items where most have already sold.
Imho is not the market itself the problem but the bots and RMT farmer are. Same as in WoW and FFXIV and many other MMO. They want turnover and not max. margin.
Good luck.
That’s like telling Wal Mart not to undercut Whole Foods. It’s never, ever, going to happen. Why do you ask? Well the answer is simple. They want your money and business, instead of said resources going to Whole Foods. There’s trade offs in quality which don’t really play into the conversation but I digress.
Point is - if someone wants the gold bad enough, they’re going to undercut you. It’s simple economics you learn in middle school.
Don’t think you understand the economy then. That’s because some raw resources are more valuable then refined. First raw resources are used to level professions to craft gear you want or sell.
Then some raw resources are used in actual end game recipes so there is always a high demand for them over refined. Take motes for instance which a ton of them are used in end game crafting. If you refine them though then well the price goes down.
While I agree with that on the lower end, I do know resources sell significantly for more than the bags they make… which just seems wrong because getting to tier 5 bags is a pain and making bags is not an efficient way to get exp.
But ore to bars, rawhide to leather, fiber to linen… yeah those make sense for the raw resource to be priced higher.
You should be making profit on bags always compared to the resources you put in.
Well yea most professions the best way to level is with simple common recipes. Armoring should be leveled by Town boards and the higher you got you start getting higher Armoring missions where they are 100+. If you have armoring missions in multiple towns, it does go up nicely.
I leveled engineering to 150 with gunpower so I farmed massive amounts of flint/charcoal. That way I could make Orichalcum tools. I didn’t want to waste time or resources crafting Starmetal tools in over abundance. I made my gold on them don’t get me wrong but they are not there to level when I can use a common recipe.
I sold an Ori Pickaxe last night for 2,795 so getting to Ori tools has paid off. Not to mention not wasting starmetal in the process leveling.
