Everyone stop undercutting on Trade Post it hurts everyone

You are dreaming bro, if ressources are unlimited the prices can only go down.

  • Resources are limited by the amount of time it takes to gather them. Time is actually the resource being bought and sold, and not everyone has time to farm.
  • Resources are limited because they are consumed, so supply is not always expanding.

I tell you what, anyone not buying their level 60 gear now while it’s cheap (even if you’re just level 10 or some such) would be making one of the silliest decisions you can make while playing this game. :slightly_smiling_face:

Too much supply, not enough demand…loot rates (mobs, chests, harvesting, etc) need to be cut drastically.

Not the buyers. It helps them plenty so keep doing it!

Question. What is everyone basing their prices off of right now. When you go to sell some mats, do you look at what’s currently listed and base off that, do you sell for the recommended price that automatically populates or do you make up a number that you think the mat is worth based of your time/gold spent getting it?

Is there any other legitimate way to price your items?

Until the market stabilizes who is to say what is worth what. If I can sell an item for 100gp and someone will buy it then that’s what I price it at. If it sits there for 2 weeks and no one buys it, reprice said item. If I go to post am item and I see 2 or 3 sitting there at 100gp and no one is buying I drop the price by 5 or 10. If you want to sell something be amiable to change your price to suit your sell. Not everything in the game is worth as much as everyone thinks it is, but until prices settle sell for what you can get or else your just filling up space. And bag and weight space is very important.

What people are in here and not getting is the fact that the OP is not complaining about supply/demand but the stupid buggers intentionally undercutting that keeps driving prices down even if the demand is high.

The other thing they dont understand is that you have 11 auction houses each with its own economy. If you dont like one, move to the next.

Buy all the things people undercut, and flip them in a different city.

…and we are explaining to him why that exact scenario doesn’t exist, or is otherwise normal and healthy for a market.

One more thing to add to this. I just checked the log storages on my server. The same guy has over 10 listed in the same location for 250 gold each. They cost 250 for the minor rune ALONE. Plus your faction coins + matts + crafting fees + AND on top of that listing fees.

He is legit losing gold on his transactions meanwhile making it impossible to sell log storages at a profit.

One guy… made a viable profitable trade, useless.

This is the type of unhealthy undercutting that people talk about. Like wtf are you doing? You’re losing gold on your products and making it impossible for other people to earn/spend gold on the market.

Dont be that guy.

greed needs to be fixed from what i see most of the time. people want raw resources for cheap as they can while trying to sell made products for greed profit prices. Like people wanting to sell star metal items for 500 or more gold while not wanting to spend more than 10 gold on resources. Sure doesn’t cost a resource gather anything except time to go gather the mats but that’s just it time to gather not like you gather 4k of mats in 1 minutes.

we need fucking gear sinks and remove the gear being droped from mobs and chests.

with that, everyone will need to buy gear constantly, not only to replace the broken gear, but also lower tier gear for activities that don’t require them to be that strong, so they don’t risk breaking the expensive gear. What will this cause? a lote of people to quit, yeah, sure. But also, gear will become more expensive, crafters will be able to make profit from crafting, with time, people will forget that they were gathering all the shit themselves to craft and will start buying the mats to craft, so now tons of crafters will buy mats, mats will go up in prices, so now some people that enjoy gathering will notice that they can dedicate themselves only to gathering and make a decent income, etc.

The big issue with the prices and the economy right now, is that the lack of gear sinks and the huge amounts of good gear being droped from chests and mobs cause the gear price to stay very very low, rendering all the crafting profesion useless, and removing the demand for mats with it.

Is either that or remove the ‘‘player driven economy’’ label from the game description, remove the AH, add npc vendors to buy/sell most items in the game, and balance the economy to that.

Don’t forget there is also no money to buy anything. Taxes, some are exorbitant. Company fees for wars, no money grind aside from quests.
Even fish chests have no money.
People undercut to at least sell to a very small market that needs little.

At the risk of being blasted, perhaps it wasn’t a great idea to give all players the ability to level all gathering/crafting skills. Every MMO I have ever played limited the number of skills you could take on at any given time. This created inter-dependency and a certain amount of scarcity. True, there will be some players that will simply never craft and don’t like gathering, but allowing everyone to do everything isn’t realistic. No one in the real world does it all! They specialize, creating a deeper market for their goods and services. JS

It’s funny to see these two posts following each other up like this.

Because by using trash gear which you salvage afterwards, whilst just grinding, getting new gear, putting that on again when your gear is broken. You can actually already net a profit as is. You don’t have to be hemorrhaging gold. And once more people will start realizing this, more people will start generating gold to help fund the economy.

Till then, I would just suggest people to take their advantage of this. Buy rare stuff low now whilst you can. It’s going to be a good investment.

FFXIV is another MMO which allows you to level them all, it certainly doesn’t happen though by all. Likewise, in New World many will not level all skills. There are some things which should change though if you ask me. For example the bind on pickup status of the orbs. They should become tradeable I would say. This reduces the necessity for people to level trade skills by a lot. Making it more of a choice thing rather than anything else.

It’s cute when they’re just learning. Good luck OP

sorry can you explain this again? I didn’t understand what you are sugesting.

Im guilty of this but I dont go that much lower. Its a natural thing to do if your capcity is running full, you have limited sell space on shop. You have to sell things fast.
