Exemption for Crafted Gear with introduction of expertise system - Please clarify

Hi, could someone please clarify this statement from the Dev Blog:

The BIG change

In early 2022, when we start reducing the effectiveness of gear to your Expertise level, we will exempt the following items:

  • Any item you craft
  • Any item you earn from a quest
  • Any item you purchase from the faction shop

“Any item you Craft” does that mean only if YOU crafted, or does that include items that where crafted for you or crafted items purchased?

Please clarify.

Thank you

I believe that means that once it is traded to someone else or bought from trading post it will scale down to whoever now has its expertise level.

only items that you personally craft, traded items will be scaled based on your expertise and themitem’s GS

Yeah clearly states traded items will be scaled so only if you craft it yourself it won,t scale.

There are 2 categories.

All gear you acquire before they make the 2022 change will keep its power. Whether you craft it, buy it, trade it, etc. It gets grandfathered in.

After that date, the crafting exception is only for gear you craft for yourself. It is meant to allow you to grind crafting instead of watermark to gear yourself, if you so choose.
