If not, was that an intentional design decision to say “we only want armorsmiths to be able to have access to these armors”? I don’t see any on the market so I assume they’re bind-on-pickup. Another kick between the legs to crafters.
Can the items be dyed?
If not, again, it seems like another opportunity to let crafters do their thing which has been intentionally stifled. If I’m forced to spend the time and resources to level armorsmithing to access these items, I would hope, again, as the one making the item, that I could alter its colors with the dye system.
I lament that many armors in the game cannot be dyed in any way.
I understand the that the inherent gear scores of these items is reduced compared to their non-replica versions because crafters are able to raise that GS through various means.
They are bind on pick-up - this sucks but I sort of understand, except they made the component tradeable, such makes no sense.
Yes they can be dyed.
No they are not less Gearscore than their looted counterparts, you just need to use higher grade materials to reach higher gearscores, JUST LIKE every other crafted item.
Ya, not having them be tradable but allowing the unique component to be tradable (but not searchable on the market) is yet another oversight. Maybe we can bring this to someone’s attention.
Please making the expedition replicas bind-on-equip so that crafters have something more to set them apart from random world drops.
The biggest benefit of the expedition Armour is that they have pre-defined attribute, if this attribute works for you then you can get that attribute and choose 1 perk, so for example I crafted genesis heavy armour that gives +CON and I used chunk of adderstones for Luck. Then added Pearls instead of gems for a luck set.
I have since replaced that now for Voidbent armour instead, but ofc since it’s BOP you can only make them for yourself.
It says bind on pickup clearly on the weapon when you mouse over it in the crafting window.
To OP, the reason Replicas are bind on pickup is because they would be stupidly broken otherwise. You get a guaranteed attribute AND perk of your choice AND it’s guaranteed to be epic with azoth? it’s basically deterministically cheating any item you want into the game for an extremely low cost. Now imagine if the market was flooded with them. They are meant as ways for crafters to craft sick gear for themselves without ruining the economy.
That’s just it. You shouldn’t have to do a secondary function to see if something is tradeable while crafting. It’s a main priority for crafters. It should be clearly stated in the main crafting window.
But sadly, like most of this game, the system is half baked.
do you not read the item your crafting before you craft it? You just hit “craft” without checking to see what it was? Of course you didn’t do that. you read the item but didn’t notice where it stated clearly, in highlighted font no less, “Bind On Pickup”. If you think a big warning window should pop up saying WARNING YOU ARE CRAFTING A BIND ON PICKUP ITEM that’s fine, fair enough idea. It isn’t the game’s fault, though, nor a fatal system flaw that you didn’t read the item.
Thanks for providing at least a semblance of a reason for it being BoP. I think the cost of the item can be mitigated by not allowing the unique crafting component to be tradable. If the crafter him/herself has to do the dungeons to get the items, that limits their rarity enough while still providing the option to sell a cool, rare item.
It’s still highly unfortunate to discover that these items are BoP. I’m disappointed by this system yet again.
I think they help crafting GS 600 armor with determined perk and attributes. They are BoP but you only need to gamble on 2 perks, while at the same time you’ll have attributes + your weapon perk on a GS 600
I cant get them from my company armorer , i have to level armoring to get them. if my armoring isnt max they have no function and will just end up deleted. So they only have a small use for people that dont need them
