This will ruin everyone’s experience with this game. Casual players, hardcore players, everyone. It will force ppl to grind every aspect of the game while the point in a mmo is always to have diversity, so if ppl wanna gather resources all day long to put em to sale and do that only so they can upgrade their gear for pvp, without touching a single mob in the procces, they should be able to. If they are a crafter and want to only flip stuff in TP, also without doing everything else, so they can have good gear for whatever reason at the end of the procces, they also should be able to. Limiting players to do what you think they should be doing and forcing then to login everyday (or to not be able to progress the max they can in a single day) will ruin this game for good. Everyone have fun in different ways in a game, so we are the ones that should have the right to chose how we want to play it, and for how long, while still being able to progress. So again, STOP with these changes that we are not asking for and focus on the changes that we actually want. Just listen to your community.
EDIT: One suggestion that I also want to point out is to make gypsum independent of what activity you got ir from, that means, make it only one type of gypsum. This way, we are not forced to do a bunch of different stuff every possible day we can; we would still be able to pick what we want to do. I’m not a fan of this daily progress limit, but if you don’t change that, at least let us decide how we want to play the game.
I think this change will make the game much better in the long run. I’m looking forward to finishing my watermark grind post patch, not going to rush it ahead of time. I’m little under 1k hours in New world and I think AGS might be onto something with the expertise change, I just think emotions are way to high atm that people aren’t looking at how good these changes really are.
You should at least explain why do you think this would be good, I’m not being able to figure out how in the world would it be good to play the game in the ruled way they determined.
For one, I believe that the ability to target certain items for upgrade is going to be a huge deal. The amount of time i’ve spent just getting random GS increases for weapons I do not use will be removed if I can target that weapon specifically. As well, one of my biggest weaknesses at the moment is my jewelry. I can now target jewelry and bring it in line with the rest of my gear.
I also believe that it opens the market for items between 500-599 gear score. People will be looking to keep a general build (proper perks ect) and instead of just rushing and buying a full set of 600 items immediately, they can seek out an item closer to their expertise level.
These are but a few changes I like and I believe will be good for the game. I hope i explained it in a decent manner. At least I look forward to them, but that is completely personal opinion.
Aight I agree with your first point. As for the second one, while you see this as a fun way to progress through the game, I don’t. And that’s my point, everyone should play and enjoy the game the way they want to. Here’s what I commented on another post just now:
If someone wants to focus on crafting their gear, or farm random resources to sell it so they can purchase their gear, for example, that should be their choices. This systems forces you to play the game the grindy way AGS wants now, it completely removes the freedom to do what pleases you the most, which was one of its base proposals since the beginning. Also, it will penalize both players that either can’t or want to login everyday as well as the ones that actually like those grinds and want to progress the maximum they can in one or even every single day.
It does look like they are taking a small steps towards killing this game. They don’t want to make haste decision like they did with their previous game called crucible which after month since release was put back into beta stage and then completely killed. Right now they just want to milk new world as much as they can before killing it.
