Yes, and its not even just casuals. There are a lot of players stuck on dead servers that cant get groups at all for them.

Which is why I think that should have been the first thing done before anything changed. These people are so far behind and will continue getting more and more behind. They cant do anything… no dungeons, no opr, mostly solo chest runs, crafting is hard because materials are not there to buy and sell etc.

Although I will say I am jealous that farming materials is a ton easier.

Yup it’s 3h a day for 40 days at best to get from 500 to 600. For an average player it’s more like 1h-2h a day for 100+ days.

Contrast that to the 1h a day for 14 days it took to max your HWM a month ago during the easy trains.

Add to the shit show that during the train era you were not forced to grind HWM. Now you are forced and it will take you more then 10x the time.

I understand what he meant. But with the nerfs to ability to get watermark up people will be unable to hit the cap in the month so they will see the down grade.

It has been weeks since my server was able to have a group for elite areas, the one person that would recruit for the group eventually transferred because he had been unable to get a full group for 2 weeks, that was 2 weeks ago, so a month.

Yes i agree. However i cant really know how far a casual progresses because im not one myself i have no clue abouit it (900 hours playtime already…). We all know the change sucks for a lot of players.

Amazon is the problem they have soo much money that it doesnt hurt them if this game die. They feel like they dont have to listen to their player base. it’s more like if you dont like it then quit.

Yeah I know. This patch just sucks all around for a lot of people. Unfortunately they have so much time invested in this monthly update that its not going to change. For me the grind is too much. I plan to play the holiday content and then I am out.

More than 800h in but even I have enough now, I will play the holiday content too and then I am out too. If I wanted to play a korean mobile game I would have bought a korean mobile game!

So youre ok if they reset all level 60 players hwm to 500. Clean playing field? Nobodies preferred time sink is more relevant that others?

I played BDO, started late, hit full Pen, have 63 on main character, with every lifeskill to the point I can see myself ranked, alt characters for every class at 60. (As of the last time I played).

It isn’t not liking hard, I love difficulty level. I don’t mind the grind. It is that the PvE in this game is not fun. While I could spend time enjoying gathering/crafting and pvp they are about to ruin both. The game appears to be going in a bad direction, they are taking it in that direction without adding content the game desperately needs.

They appear to want to add time gates, rather than add content, to a game that started too low on content.

Nobody is a fan of Time-gated stuff. At least they could’ve added it with diminish returns. Say, 10% chance to drop it a second time off the same source after the first drop, then maybe a 5%.

Explains exactly how I feel. I actually went on a chest run last night since I haven’t done that for a long while. No way I am spamming that for 10 days straight. I just logged of afterwards and didn’t feel like playing anymore.

Time gates are not content!

Punishing crafters for choosing to grind levels/mats instead of the easy mode zerg chest farm retroactively is abhorrent and dishonest. Devs knew about the Expertise thing LONG before they announced it.

I agree completely that in a similar way to what many others are saying here and elsewhere, getting these crafts going will definitely not be a simple “30min to one hour of daily activity”, as suggested in the AGS dev blog post. It will require even more extensive grinding, and the prospect of seeing the highest gear scores will be even more remote than before.

Yes, more ways are offered for this, but with the grind made even worse (!!?!?) than before with even more mediocre rewards. It feels like the game time dedicated by players will mean even less.

The endgame in an online title is usually the most difficult thing to get right. In NW, finding the delicate balance between rewards, time spent and keeping players engaged after level 60 was VERY problematic to begin with, and as far as I see it now it will be lost even further.

It doesn’t take a lot for players to become tired of hamster wheel mechanics, and this can very easily be seen in the documented rapid decline of NW players.

That’s the 2nd thing I immediately realised as soon as I read the news, and another reason for choosing not to be a part of this, at least for the time being. I hate being forced to do things I am finding out I am enjoying less and less.

I haven’t logged on in more than a week (even before these announcements), I am playing other titles and I am very happy with my decision of giving up something that’s becoming more convoluted, unreasonably grindy and less rewarding by the minute. I am just very disappointed I had to pay 40 euros to find out.

You finally understand the vision! That’s right - create engagement, not enjoyment, fear of missing out, etc. Nice bait and switch too, because that’s not the game I bought a couple of months ago.

Cash shop boosters will complete the picture.

people are in a rush to get back to where they used to be, whether its 540-600 you will have to work to get back to your old standard.

Its also so time consuming, you likely can progress in your other goals that take time, unless you don’t do the other dailies.

6 dailies is supposed to consume 3-6 hours of play per day. spending 4 hours crafting and gathering means only getting one upgrade for the whole day.

it doesn’t matter… because before I drop anything I run out of money for repairs… and you can’t sell anything through trade on our server… so RIP
