[EXPLOIT] Abusing siege window changing to force invasions thus avoiding war

  • What is your character name in New World: Tzeren

  • What server/world did you experience your issue on: Diana’s Grove

  • Describe the issue you are experiencing: We brought the dying faction together to give a war a try, worked 2 hours on getting Monarch’s into conflict.
At 99% influence on our end, the enemy governor of the company occupying Monarch changed the siege window to 8PM, thus forcing the invasion and delaying the war by a day (current time: 9:40PM, previous siege window was 10PM)
Not only that, but the war was pushed from a Tuesday night to a Wednesday thus making a war not possible even if there wasn’t an invasion due to downtime on Wednesdays.

  • Is this a bug or an exploit: exploit

  • (if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: couldn’t bring a zone into war

  • (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: No

  • (if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced:

  • What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced:
When a faction tries to put your zone into conflict, change the siege time when their efforts are at 90% to a time where the war gets delayed by an entire day beforehand. So the previous siege window was 10PM, and it was about to go into conflict at 9:30PM.
Changing siege window to 8PM makes it less than 24 hours for the war thus pushing it a day further.
The faction planned tipping the zone into conflict considering the siege time beforehand thus rendering our efforts useless by changing the siege window at the last minute

This is really annoying. They should freeze Siege time to be amended if 50% influence has been taken or if fort is occupied by another faction. If we own the fort, then they should not be able to change siege window. Can now be manipulated on time and the fact of a forced invasion from the corrupted.

Jumping to conclusions are dangerous. We (TheHempClub) talked about changing the war window for the obious reasons that more people are online at 8 pm rather than 10 pm. So when i logged on today and you were at 90% influence, i thought it would be more convienient to have war at 8 pm tomorrow rather than 10 pm.

You guys set the window to 10pm originally. If it was that inconvenient you would have changed sooner. You guys exploited the war by manipulating the gauntlet. Sad really.

Im sorry. It was not intended.

Just stop it.
If we are on green side started to play wars we had like 20% Server Population, you as Yellow 30% and purple 50%.
You lost all wars to a PVP playerpool out of 70 Greens, and instead of grow up, fill your wars with higher level people or stuff like that you allways scream.

Since our first war we have everytime 5 Ice Gauntlets, you scream for Exploit but using 10 on your own side after and still lose the war.

Now this Bullshit, its a game mechanic.

Stop beeing bad losers and start to prepare yourself for better wars aggainst us.

So let me get this straight, you WAITED the entire 4 days you owned Monarch, until there was 90%+ influence on it, to conclude that more people are online at 8pm?
and you expect us to believe it?
this is clear exploitation.

This is not the first time when Diana’s Grove greens are using exploits at wars. They did it again! Amazing.

@Schiffi Just stop it, stick to topic, this is not mature behaviour.

On point. As Tzeren said in initial post, this is an exploit and to be honest, your explanation @Bazze is a clear excuse. It does not make sense at all. Please take appropriate action to resolve this issue from both a player perspective and server perspective. Behaviour like this should not be tolerated.

but it should be accepted that we get trashtalk on us after every war? It´s going like this since 2 weeks.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the discussed issue, so please stick to the subject.

More people will exploit this and everyones efforts will go in vain just like that. This needs to be taken care of.

Someone dropped their dummy

Just updating that this indeed caused an influence reset in the area (known bug where if there’s an invasion pending but the conflict window ends, the influence resets)

Whether or not it was intentional, this is something that AGS should look into because it definitely can be abused.

Of course this has to do with it, Diana’s Grove is not a day one server, your trashtalk made the Ice Gauntlet bug known on our server, the same now with this topic. A situation occurs for the first time and you are 100% sure it is intentional, this behavior is more toxic than my replies yesterday could have been. Just do yourself a favor and realize that sometimes you have bad luck, and try to be better. The Syndicate will be able to confirm that we could not declare war in Brightwood 2x due to the invasion alone.

Now honestly, how toxic are your thoughts that you always question defeats and failures on a “cheat” level instead of getting better? The climate you create is a bigger problem than moving time frames.

how is this relevant to the exploit mentioned above? it’s not.
I fear you are confusing internal affairs with a situation that needs to be adressed by AGS,
There’s an exploit happening, and I expect obvious usage of this exploit to be handled by moderation, and moreover fixed so we don’t put in time in vain trying to influence a zone.
Please don’t stray from this topic.

Half of your Thread and the answers from your Factions and Allies have nothing to do with the topic, but flames us.

Exploiting this well-known issue needs to be addressed.
