This has been happening a lot lately, but users are putting their camps on top of Orichalcum and other nodes to prevent other players from being able to mine/harvest resources. Here I have an example of it happening to me multiple times (the guy followed me around). Similar to corruption, it seems like having a tent on the node makes it not spawn, and if it does spawn you are forced to interact with the camp instead. Surely it can be prevented by not allowing camps to be built on top of nodes?
This is being used to combat bots. But as you demonstrated it can also be used to affect players . I really don’t want to advocate any change that disables our form of bot combat. But it also doesn’t look fair to you
The problem is it prevents actual people from being able to mine, and some people (like in the photos above) use it for their own greed against actual players, or just to grief. Even to the people using it to combat bots, taking away actual players’ ability to mine doesn’t really solve anything, honest people lose out on the resource node completely. I’d rather have a chance at a node competing with a bot than no chance at all because someone has placed a camp on top of a node.
I hear you. The way I see it. You got griefed, report the dude.
This just happened in Reekwater again today… the same dude ruining it for everyone… as soon as he sees competition he just builds a campsites and ruins it… surely it can be made that campsites cant be placed on ore veins?
Is there any way we can get a comment on this from someone from Amazon? Is anything planned to fix this? It’s happening to me and my friends almost every day by the same people. Reports have been made, but no action has been taken.
Is it intended that people have the power to actually prevent resources from respawning by putting a camp on them? I would surely hope not, that gives 1 person power over the other 1-2k people on the server by saying “no this node won’t come back because I don’t want anyone to have it”?
it’s just 1 node, why it is so important to you, lol… and most of the valuable nodes are inside of the landmarks anyway
Well, it was two nodes in these cases they were next to each other. Whether it’s a “valuable” node or not, this is griefing, malicious, and quite frankly, exploitative (exploiting the use of camps for the personal gain of having control over that node vs. anyone else. Not what camps are for.).
No matter where it is or what node it is, it’s not cool to come up to an area people are farming in and put tents on the nodes there for the sole purpose of “haha now you and no one else can get it until I pick my camp up!”. At this point, you’re just defending bad behavior. Plus, the same can be said to that person, why is it so important to them that they need to put a camp on a node. Now not only can they not get it, no one can.
you know that simply standing on top of the node will stop it from respawning, right? And just being in the mob respawning area will delay their respawning time from 1 min to 10 mins, so are you saying that’s griefing and exploitative as well? if you care about that node this much, you might just stand on top of it all day so nobody can put a camp there?
Doing it intentionally, yes. If you are intentionally doing something to prevent others from participating, it’s an exploit/grief. 100%. Kind of the definition of it, something that exists in the game for one purpose, and using it for a malicious purpose instead.
how can you prove it’s intentional? just by your own words? so people can not be in the area just because you want to farm something? lmao, by your definition, getting the nodes before you can is an exploit/grief
When someone walks up to you, puts a tent on top of you at a node and walks off, it’s intentional. Not just one time, multiple days, same people, same spot.
Why are you defending behavior like this so hard, you do it too?
Oh, so you are the bot that’s camping the same nodes all day, I’m glad someone did this to you then, I never did this, but if I see a bot camping a node 24/7, I would. No wonder you care about the specific node that much, lol. It’s not like a person can put multiple camps, a normal person would just go farm other nodes
Troll… seriously it not only affects him it affects many of us on our large populartion server. Everyone should have fair access to resources… My friends and I are not bots but we do start and end the day gathering orichalcum before getting on with other more fun stuff, that’s how you play a balanced game. You really haven’t added anything to this conversation at all so why bother?
standing at a node 24/7 is “fair access to resources” to you, lmao
Who said they were doing that? - again troll be gone LOL
You don’t have to be standing at a node 24/7 to get griefed, but thanks for resurrecting this post!
