- What is your character name in New World: Red7Coder
- What server/world did you experience your issue on: Aarnivalkea
- Describe the issue you are experiencing: Town board missions that have the same item type, such as fasteners, will result in only one being completed when turning in the mission. I’m not sure if it only happens when two town board missions are the in the same area, or just the same type.
- Is this a bug or an exploit: Bug
- (if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: I do multiple quests in my route, then I get to town to turn them in, and some of them don’t receive credit. So I miss out on XP and time wasted.
- (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: No.
- What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Go to a town board and accept “Explorers Needed” type mission, in the same area. Search the chest for the item, such as fasteners, and complete all the objectives. Return to town board mission, all should be green and able to be turned in. Click on one of them. The other is no longer able to be turned in, as those items are no longer in your inventory.
It happened to me a few times already and i could pinpoint 2 major problems with colliding town quests:
- Some town quests in the same region reuire identical items.
Example Everfall: collect 2 Rivets in Bradbury Fields/collect 1 Rivet in Norma
In fact it is not possible to collect 3 Rivets, since the items are identical. the chests will not contain any more rivets (on any of both locations) once you have gathered 2 since both quest requirements are fulfilled with 2 quest items. But you cant turn both quests in. Furthermore if you have already gathered the Rivet at Norma (which is only 1 chest) and turned in the other quest the chest at Norma is NOT restored, means the other remaining quest cannot be fulfilled anymore. - It is possible to take the very same explorer quest twice, by having one running while the town board is refreshed, The quest you have active from the previous cycle is not locked in the refresh and might appear again. if this quest requires more than one quest item, they cannot be completed simultaneously, although you get 2 Quest items per chest, chests will stop giving more quest items once both are completed, which is the case when you have the required amount for one quests as both require the same item. You have to turn one in before you can complete the other, unless there are fewer chests at the location than required for 2 quests, because, as stated above they do not regenerate.
