Amazon tought us, if we want someting done, we should make the worst damage possible first.

Only if they care about the well-being of their game they are developing; most game devs always keep a pulse on reddit incase of situations like this. Hell why not look at other MMOs and learn from their successes/failures AGS? Maybe get a Test Server to Test Patches and make sure there is nothing “Game-Breaking” before making it live to the public? Maybe get a paid internal testing team for patches like FF does so that game breaking issues like this won’t occur? Most MMORPGs have gone through these newbie MMORPG dev design mistakes that Amazon could have easily avoided had they done their research on previous MMORPGs.

One of the devs has his DM’s open. I was able to send him a direct bug report recently. @TheLawRich I think was his tag. Try not to spam him, or he might lock up. He acknowledged the bug and thanked me for the report. That said, maybe DM’ing the CM’s would be better as well, this is literally their job.
I think this is a “you reap what you sow” moment for the AGS team. Man what I would do to be a fly in the conference room of AGS right now. Another one that comes to mind is “never rush a good thing” bwhahahaha how many of the team members came to work today thinking “well it can’t possibly get worse than it already is” BAM! hit by a train

Wait, I just had deja’vu. We are playing diablo 2 open battle net right now. yaknow the version you could take your toon offline and dupe the hell out of some items, then log it back onto a battle net server? They just need to make a closed battle net equivalent and we good. Hell, down the road maybe put the “play single player” toggle on the current realms. It’s already got an “open battle net” feel to it. Why not just give it a shove off the cliff? instead of letting it slowly slip and catch itself, before plunging to its untimely death. It will be better this way, less struggling and making a fuss over it.

I guess the problem is that they use promises in a loop of observers instead of transactions. This couldn’t happen with “start transaction; modify account A; modify account B; commit on failure rollback”.

It’s kind of like when you have gangrene or sepsis in one of your limbs. So you have to amputate or else the corruption will spread, dooming you to a slow and painful death. But its all these servers that are currently in operation you are amputating. Yeah, perfect analogy

There’s no point in shutting the game down. Instead. they should let everyone play as is. Continue banning anyone intentionally engaging in exploits. And then once this is all fixed, release fresh start servers. Nobody is allowed to transfer from an existing server to a fresh start server. This way, players who don’t want to take a step away or lose progress can continue and just deal with the economy in its current state. And those that want a more balanced, fair environment can start over fresh on a server with others who are at the same starting point.

They should stop all wars immediately until they fix hatchet exploit. Ideally they would fix all the other weapons they recently broke at the same time, but those are less critical.
amazon won’t let this project fail, I know this to be true, I feel this, all the drama and controversy, will only give the dev team more funds at their disposal. no one talks about this, but amazon will not let this project fail. It would paint amazon in a bad light something they don’t enjoy from past experience.
It is impossible to play knowing that there is a mass of dishonest people in the game duplicating items and taking advantage of exploits. Please AGS shut down the servers and fix this shit!
Wipe time??? Seriously tho I don’t see a way to fix this. They will never be able to find and ban all the dupers so for all the legit people it’s incredibly unfair and just teaches us to use the exploits next time.

It’s one thing to see a bug/exploit with the potential to screw up the market and the devs fix quickly, another thing is this shit show that lasts +2 days where a dupe method pops up repeatedly.
The situation is getting out of hand and soon the servers will be full of dishonest people with endgame items that will stay in your hands for months!
Basically this shit people will enjoy the game with infinite gold and infinite resources for months maybe years. Where on earth is this fair to honest players? Honest players need to go and dont go back forever.
Looks to me like Blue Origin was more successful in getting people out of orbit than AGS in making a fucking decent MMO!

Don’t worry. There’s a Youtuber who’s making videos to show exactly how to do dupes, oob runs, etc. so that the devs will actually pay attn. and FIX THE DAMN GAME.
THIS. Or at least give us a new server that we can all join if we want a reset after the fixes are done.
