Firestaff abilities just need a big rework.
Pillar of fire tickles and it’s laughable how wonky the targeting is. AGS knows they messed up hence why blunderbuss does not have any form of that targeting in the game.
Just get rid of the little circle ground AoE things for fire staff and that is a step in the right direction. Or make it work better vertically up range because many other abilities tracker is much better. Another reason why vertically fire staff is just bad with the exception of fireball.
But look at the ease of use of mortar shot, poison shot, explosive arrow, gravity well. Like why take a firestaff when you could add any one of these in the roster.
Pillar of fire should be done on the reticle just like explosive arrow or any number of actually good and easy to use AoE abilities like mortar blast etc.
Using pillar up a slope or vertically is also useless and dog poop compared to gravity well, explosive arrow, mortar shot etc.
Meteor shower needs to become METEOR. just METEOR that’s it. KISS = KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID.
One big meteor ball that does more damage the longer it is channeled. You channel the full 6 seconds you get a fat freaking meteor and more burst. You channel for one second you do baby damage.
Then, INCINERATE should become DRAGON’S BREATH. Make it a frontal cone fire breathing ability that puts people at max burn stacks, and offers some decent burst/usability.
Right now every ability firestaff has is so bad.
Flamethrower is OK I guess versus low skill cap players but high skill cap players just punish it. Burn stacks need to do 8-10% damage to be viable. because right now they are just not it chief. They are just outhealed hard or cleansed.
Burnout also should be instant just like charge, just like net shot, just like all these other abilities. Just like evasive shot.
The fact that people are arguing firestaff is fine are so delusional and clueless it’s not even funny.
