What server/world did you experience your issue on: NA East/Utensia
Describe the issue you are experiencing: Faction change cooldown was previously bugged, as the length of time was change from 120 days to 60 days, but in-game cooldown values never reflected this change. I was expected this bug to be rectified by applying some elementary-school-level maths, via an equation such as [current_cooldown_amount] - 60 = [new_cooldown_amount]. But instead, it appears that the values have just been hard-reset to 60 days.
Is this a bug or an exploit: Bug
(if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: This issue effectively forces me to abandon a handful of my company members post-merge, when my company along with our allies, switch to the underdog faction, in an attempt to balance the factions. I can ask them to wait a week or two while what should be their cooldowns expire, but I can’t expect them to wait for 2 full months.
(if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: No
(if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced:
Company member’s faction change cooldown prior to today’s Winter patch
Company member’s faction change cooldown after today’s Winter patch
This is INCORRECT, the cooldown should read 17d, not 60d. This is an extremely simple equation: 77 - (120 - 60) = 17
17 != 60
What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: N/A
I need a solution to this, or I will be forced to alienate company members that I highly value. Either apply the correct maths in-game so that my company members have a reasonable amount of time to wait, remove the faction change cooldown for servers that have merged or are scheduled to merge, or allow for me to request a manual cooldown reset for individual members in my company, that have been negatively impacted by this bug.
didn’t expect them to have the brain capacity to properly reduce it by 60 days, but yeah, my counter was 61 days b4 the patch and its 60 days after it. Wow, just… WOW…
Have the same issue…
This solution is just lazy and could have been implemented weeks ago…
If they take their time I’d appreciate it if they provide a proper fix…
@Kay please… this is what I expected to happen people have been waiting 120 days to be able to change just to have to wait 60 more. just reduce it 60 days.
We are looking into a solution. Unfortunately, this isn’t as simple as we thought it would be and will require some… interesting maneuvers on our end.
The resolution won’t be today, but it will be Soon - on the horizon if you will.
At this point it is a very simple solution for AGS. There was a bug. They tried to fix it. Now it’s bugged again. if Amazon has any customer service savvy about this issue, it will immediately remove the faction change cooldown for all players - especially players on recently merged worlds. Plain and simple. Do it once so that anyone who was messed up can change factions now rather than risk another screw-up or make them wait days or (likely) weeks for the “real” fix that should have happened yesterday. If Amazon waits more than 48 hours or so to fix this, they’ve proven they’re just as inept at customer service as they are at fixing a simple timer.
I think this is probably the simplest answer now - just reset everyone to zero days.
Everyone just gets a clean slate - simple, effective, and I can’t really see a downside?
Kay, can’t you just reset everyone’s cooldowns to fix this? Most of the people swapping are going to the underdog faction anyway so it’s surely a good thing.
